John,

Another marvellous bit of writing from you. I love the early hope and the later angst that you capture so well and I couldn't agree with you more in your characterizations of "puerile" Sujata and "posseur" Nona.

I sense there may be a measure of autobiographical content in the above narration and if so, then, I completely identify with what you have said. Thousands raised their voices and took risks that they had never before imagined to restore Democracy in 1990 only to contend with a bunch of hoodlums and the string of betrayal of promises made along the way.

Irrespective of the fallacies that we were fed by those we trusted, my own fervent hope is that lessons have been learnt and that the new dawn of Democracy will herald a better Nepal..do I believe that? no, but I desperately need to bring myself to in order to hang on to hope for a peaceful and prosperous Nepal.

Kudos!

Thanks for reading nepaali,

Thanks for agreeing with me. I just captured an incident which should not be generalized to all the democratic parties and the other campaigns hosted by nepali congress themselves. I am only disgruntled by the hypocrisy that makes thousands others believe which is not true.

The adjectives I used for those people could not be more suitable as far as my vocabulary is concerned, and I have experiences that vouchsafe it.

Being a leader means having controlled over all educated masses, and then promulgate their manifesto to others through them. In case of nepalese democracy, this chain of command is violated which aggravates the entire democratic theory.

I also have similar feelings about Nepalese Democracy. We have either lazy, speech oriented
or killers as Leaders. They dont have any action oriented plan for the country except fruitless speeches.

Any way nice narration John, keep on rolling

...and along those lines, I could catch anything that could fly. Keep going.

John,

Believe me, I concur with you whole heartedly. Having seen these personalities from very close quarters, I too can vouchsafe that the adjectives you used were exactly on point.

From someone who's associations with Nepali Congress goes back to the very inception of the party - it is enraging to see what the leaders have become and done to the dream of a Democratic Nepal. The millions of promises they made have all amounted to nothing -- the leaders of Post 1990 governments, irrespective of party affiliations accepted wholeheartedly the lifestyle and minds of the predecessors they swore and fought against.

Yet, I hope that rational minds prevail this time around. Lord knows the country cannot afford any more experiments gone hopelessly awry.

You write with passion and you write beautifully :-)

Johnji, as usual gajab chha. Your stories give more reasons to roam in sajha.

''At least I do not want to regret later if not campaigning was the only reason refraining me from getting into a technical school''

I was wondering if you had to regret or not:)

saathi,
thanks for reading...I am glad you concur with me.

vantage...really?
which school did you go to?

oys chill....you have no idea what we did, we rolled turmeric and cumin seed in a cigarette paper and lit that too...

Nepaali,
sadly, the definition of a true leader in nepal is annexed to his history of either serving in prison or being exiled. Vision and qualification is often marred amidst these beliefs.

Sitara,
thanks....how suitably did you put forth a concise reply.

mailadai,
I have given up smoking....but yes I cannot ever forget smoking those bountiful pieces of smokes.

newuserji,
jado siddhiyo? balla po darshan paiyo.

newuserji,

I never had to regret...my scholarship had nothing to do with nepali congress or their campaign. Instead, I still regret over that miserable campaign.

Dear JG:

I am glad that you only feel the ignominious goose bumps of Politics and Religion. For me, along with those two companies, I have an additional one, "The age of a woman." The former two is somehow easy to handle, but the later one..... Malai Nasodha Kahaa Dukhcha Ghau...

No wonder, your writing is always stand aloof on those two topics. Secret revealed!!!

Cool contents!

Very cool. This should be proof enough, we don't always see what we think we see....

John,
As usual - loved it. Your prose stands on its own and is always a pleasure to read. Please keep em' coming.

Also, john brother, please convey my gratitude to bhauju. I am really humbled and kind of embarrassed. Sachai. So could I expect some delicious fettuccines with alfredo sauce? I bet she must have improved a lot. :p Or do I need some caveat?

Good day to you and Yours John.

- IndisGuise:)

John : Very nice - both the story and the statement underneath it. It's darkest before dawn they saw and one can only hope things get better in the days to come.
