Slash bayera guitar ko string ko bare me sodhne ....? Ha ha , that reply was hilarious. Jokes aside, it seems the advantage of light strings are easier to bend and they get de-tuned less easily bcoz when you have to tune them, you will have to wind more. (I am saying so because as we know, the 6th string is highly sensitive to tuning while the first (thinnest) has to be wound forever to be properly tuned) Maybe there are other advantages and I may not know. My two cents.

ya mahisasur is right that thin strings are easier to bend. however, thicker strings tend to give a more rich tone. for example, i know that stevie ray vaughn always played .12 or .13. the thing is that he had to tune his guitar a half semitone down because of this. same thing applies to acoustic guitars. the disadvantage of thick strings is that it tends to put more strain on your guitar's neck (which could lead to the neck getting bent), and it's harder to bend the strings. i guess if you are asking what kind of strings to buy, you probably dont know the differences much, and prolly dont care either. so go with something OK like martin 80/20 bronze light .010 - 0.47 or something like that on the acoustic. a pack of six should cost you around $4-5.

Oh nice, thanks. I didn't know about light and ultralight either (unless we were talkin' about marlboro) eh... Everytime I went to the store to get one, I asked for "acoustic strings" and I used to tell em the price range, and used to get the affordable ones. eheh. So, which brand is good, I need to change mine too? Is the "martin" better one? Guitar store mai gayera kinne ho...

Aiya, why so fussy ? Are you a pro guitarist or on the way to become one ? Just get the cheap string and strum/pluck/slap/pick your guitar.Save your $$$ on other basic neccessties

u can use dean markley blue steel medium gauge ....that is .13 .17 and so on.. these cost you around 23 bucks....and of course u gotta pay the tax... if you enjoy playing acoustics guitar ......this is the kind of string you need....they will give you the clear tones plus these strings lasts longer than other strings..... choise is ur....if u try this ..i bet you wont regret...but u will be addicted...
