Galatasaraya went on to win the UEFA championship that year. As said in the video, two british fans got killed in Istanbul. I would not be surprised if some British fans avenged this at some point when some Turkish team is playing in Britain (though there would be a massive security presence).

BTW, reminds me of a very well-written song by Iron Maiden. I believe that they should paly this song by Iron Maiden before each football match is played in Europe instead of the National Anthem :)

It was a very sad day for all football lovers. Leed's fall from grace has been somewhat less, nevertheless spectacular not long after.

I am very skeptical regarding Turkish fans after this incident although English fans have a reputation as hooligans.
