Nepalis apparently seem to enjoy US style also in literature. Like spices in movies, having x-rated scenes to pick up the market, Samrat Upadyaya has included some graphic description of sexual conduct of his characters in his stories. He goes deeper into the feelings of his characters while actually they are doing their love making. Here is an excerpt: “.. as he entered here, he shut his eyes. Malati floated enticingly into his mind, but he pushed her away and focused on one of his fantasy scenes: a park, with radiant flowers, daisies and hibiscus and camellias and rhododendrons, frogs croaking, a colorful parrot perched on a branch, the sky blue, like a crystal lake. As his mind became brighter, he opened his eyes and looked at Goma, who was now moaning.†In my opinion, that will definitely get some market in US. However, I am sure Nepalis also enjoy reading this. Do you have any excerpt like this?

arko there is no US style or nepali style when it comes to sexuality. one of the reasons why nepalis enjoyed reading the book by samrat upadaya was definetely its grapic sex portrayal. tara hey, we are equally interested in sex than anyone else, hoina ra? hussain, i think samrat upadaya teahces in indiana and he is married and has a daughter.

Samrat Upadhyay is the first published author from Nepal in the United States. He has published so far three books. In my opinion, the first book of his "Arresting God in Kathamdnu" is the best one. Second book "The Guru Of Love" also is also good page turner. Mr Upadhyay is explicit about the sexual conduct of his characters which I had not expected from Nepali writer as much. But I enjoyed reading them. His third book is "Royal Ghosts". I had not read romance novels before. When I read sexually explicit stories from a Nepali writer I felt Nepal have moved ahead. :) May be not. He wrote those for US readers. Books may not be available in South Asia yet.
