Any body famaliar with IT consultings by dhotis who offer H1B for free training and shit like that? My OPT will be done in mid of june but I dont know if these dhotis are loyal enough to file H1's and hook us up..? anyone has the good trustees?

very good post. except I would point out that "client do not control who are hired" this statement is NOT ALWAYS TRUE. It is true if the PROJECT IS OUTSOURCED. [ when I say OUTSOURCED here, i am using it as a broad vague term. meaning WORK IS NOT PERFORMED BY THE PARENT COMPANY RATHER HANDED DOWN TO ANOTHER COMPANY]
but for the consultants working in-house then CLIENT DO CONTROL WHO IS HIRED. just my 2 cents there.

Okay Chatmandude here is the data you were interested in, there are various Specializations you may opt for. I will list the specializations, their ease of learning, expected pay for entry, expected pay after a year or Two, and maximimum one can earn after you are guru. Rates are per hour basis if you go thru dhotis

1) Webdesigner, 3, 20, 40, dont know
2) Quality Assurance, 3, 30, 45, 50
3) Programmer(Java, .net, etc), 6, 30, 50, 90
4) DBA , 9, 30, 50, 100
5) ERP Packages, 8, 40, 60, 100
6) Other programmers, 7, 30, 50, 100

These are just from my experience. The last column varies up to 250/hr, the max I have heard. If you are preparing for it I wish you Good Luck
