The Beckett centenary is being observed in Britain, his native Ireland and France with much pomp and show throughout this month and next. The Nobel laureate's 100th birthday falls on 13 April.

Those of you living in or around London, or London bound Beckett enthusiasts might want to try his plays, currently being performed at The Barbican in London's West End as part of the celebration. I will probably heading off to Paris later this month - a cuppa at Beckett's cafe 'La Closerie des Lilas', on Boulevard du Montparnasse won't be going amiss! And a variation on rack of lamb too - the only dish he apparently knew and ordered!

1. WAITING FOR GODOT (been to a Fringe production of this play in Edinburgh)

Yes, I hope you're right...still, I doubt the Beckett plays will be in the Emerald City any time soon...although I hear Paul Weller may be making an apperance...nowhere near Beckett I know, but, I love the man's music so I shall have to go see him perform.
