Like Kathmandu? anyone

Please help me find the closest sister city of Kathmandu in USA. I know, there can't be any city in world like Kathmandu but I am looking at this point only similarites in geographical way. A city that has mountains around it, at least on two directions. A moderate winter (below 30 degree F not more 10 days in a year), or above 100 (not more than 7 days in a year). The ideal city would have rich fertile soil and can grow plants and vegetable of its soil. The city would support fruit tree like aamba (guava), suntala (orange), kagati (lemon/lime), bhogate (grapefruit ?) and of course Lapsi. The city should have four seasons but not necessary each of them of equal length. And don't forget this should have consistent breeze in the afternoon for few months for our changa festival (kite)

I have looked around on east coast but its hard to find something that match these criteria. Florida -- too hot, south - Not too hot but too cold for citrus trees, mid atlantic city and above - too cold for any plants. I don't know much about midwest, rockies, and west coast. It looks like the city should have some kind valley or mountain range to protect from severe and sudden weather. If that is the case, midwest would be out of question ( I am just speculating here)

I have some friends who live in Phoenix, Arizona who seems to like their weather (albeit too hot in summer) and can claim many of the similarities with Kathmandu. I don't know much about rest of Arizona or New Mexico, or Neveda. But I think California should have lot of places like Kathmandu's weather and geography. Southern california, valleys around Los Angeles should have few candidates.
Would anyone like to share their experience.... or are we, Kathmandutites, too lucky?

Thanks,
Green Maple Tree

From the pictures above, Vancouver looked more like Kathmandu to me due to its surrounding hills but of course we dont have sea and tall buildings. This is my practical answer.

Patriotic answer: Vancouver doesnt have the warm sunshine, the green fields and out-of-this world houses and narrow streets, temples like that of ktm.

KTM's sister city is Boulder, CO. Mountains and weather. But KTM would be better if we had enough water.

Matt dogg we are not second in water resource. Its obvious that country that have coastal boundaries are definitely richer in water resources than nepal.

Nepal is second in potential hydroelectricity power. That is to say we have that current of water in nepal that could easily rotate the turbine and produce electricity. We are only second to brazil.

I went to Knoxville of Tennessee couple of years back during summer. I found it more like kathmandu than any other cities I have visited so far. It's a valley surrounded by mountains just like Ktm. Temperature not too high in summer (around 90s) and yeah cold breeze is just like that in ktm. There is a popular mountain called smokey around 40 miles away from the valley downtown, which reminded me of Nagarkot. Land is cultivable and they produce maize and mustard primarily.
Check out this place, its close to KTM in most of the things.
