Just wanna have some idea how one can or has contributed or thinks (s)he can be an integral part of developmental efforts for our beloved country. I think it is time to be serious... people are giving their blood in the streets to fight against the autocratic rulers of Nepal...which must not be wasted but then how do we have to lead us to respectable life of our own on our own once the goal (loktantra)is attained?

Thanks a million EdHunter and Hyperthread for your responses. I appreciate your thoughts... Reliable Transportation and New Education system which can make the "educated ones" more practical and productive...
I would not think this is very bad number at least three out of 107(those viewed it) at least care to think what we need to improve on...
As far as I am concerned, I worked with farmers in remote hill districts of nepal for quite a while and at present am in the US for higher studies and will soon be heading to be with the farmers again... So the way I have contributed is being good in my subject and working honestly whatever I could do ... and hope I can continue even after my return back home.... Keep up your good thoughts...

You know I was wodering if anybody was also thinking the same thing. Ishna I will give you props for wanting to do something rather then just talk.
One thing that Nepal needs in terms of development is security in which lives and properties are valued. They need a security system where moists or any other things like uprising in our country could never happen again.
I would also like to ask you if you created this thread just for finding peoples opinion or do you actually want to do something. If you want to do something then I have many ideas in which we can make the listed ideas above into reality. I definately want to do it.
Let me know if you are interested.

Oh yah an not forgtetting maximising the hydropwer potential of Nepal..... that is, if any iof the developed countries see it;s potential and are willing to take a risk in it.

philomath -- dun even F***ing get that idea in ur head... tat's one of the WORST and STUPIDEST ideas i've ever heard in me life. There is a potential for Nepal to step out of India's shadows..... F***ing sell Nepal to India??? sell ur mom to a 'randi khana' then think abt selling Nepal. Freaking TWAT!!!

once again... I think .. we can not go on without doing anything to our country... Yes we must do something... it may not be any earth shaking... ground breaking job but whatever we can do... even just expressing ourselves in these forums will encourage rather than poisoning and wasting the brains with filthy words like some respectable members do in some of the threads...

come on let us do something simple something creative

nepal cannot survive as a republic. it will eventually taken over by India (like Sikkim). It won't be china, because India and the US will never approve of.

Ishna, my advice is "Free your mind, and your a$$ will follow." Change in society reflects the internal changes in people's hearts and minds. I know, it's pretty cliche, and, yeah, I should take my own advice...LOL!

Nepal is too diverse in a very small area. Republicanism, will never be able to unite them. We should all work towards constitutional monarchy (like Great Britain).

Sujanks and others, no one is going to take over anyone, Sikkim was an exception, it was during the height of the COLD war and the west was insecure that the communist china will make sikkim another tibet, so they supported sikkim's take over by india( by the way it was even supported by the people of that state as even they were afraid of china's takeover), that is not going to happen in the cas eof Nepal, as the PEOPLE OF NEPAL will never support such an proposterous idea, so let us concentrate on the more pressing issues and not indulge in conspiracy theories and mislead the people based on what happened three dacades ago.
