powdered baking soda is just baking soda...but powderd into finer composition.
i
Baking soda is sodium bicarbonate, an alkaline (a base the opposite of an acid), which produces carbon dioxide when mixed with a liquid acid.
but if u r asking about baking powder,..... then it is a mixture of baking soda, starch, and at least one slightly acidic compound such as cream of tartar that works as a leavening agent in baking by releasing carbon dioxide when mixed with a liquid, such as milk or water.

Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, has the chemical formula NaHCO3. Cream of tartar, also known as tartrate salt, has the formula KHC4H4O6. The reaction is:

NaHCO3 + KHC4H4O6 ----> KNaC4H4O6 + H2O + CO2

hey parmeshwori........... you guys are making me more confused.

Baking soda is a compound.
Baking powder is a heterogeneous mixture.

But what is "powdered" baking soda? Baking soda, being a compound.......... does that make its powder a "homogeneous mixture"?

NO way! You cannot physically break a compound down..as far as my SLC chemistry goes!

oys chill.......... what I am saying is ..........we can mix two or more compounds to make a mixture. We do not need to break a compound to make a mixture. We can simply mix them physically. For eg. sand (which is a compound) plus sugar (another compound). hmm...that reminds me......what is a handful of sand? is it a mixture or a compound?

Well, my utmost attempt, especially on Chemistry, so far in my life-

Baking soda is a compound, no doubt about that.

Powder Baking Soda is a heterogenous mixture.

By the way, is Baking powder and Powder Baking Soda are synonymous???

Baking powder and baking soda are two different things
baking soda is pure sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3)

Baking powder -It contains sodium bicarbonate, but it includes the acidifying agent already (cream of tartar), and also a drying agent (usually starch).

They are added to baked goods before cooking to produce carbon dioxide and cause them to 'rise'. Baking powder contains baking soda, but the two substances are used under different conditions.

Baking soda usually is granular when you crush it becomes powder that is powdered baking soda, this is in straight sense,

so powdered baking soda is a compound not a mixture.
but sometime some questions are not straightforward so need to understand in what circumstances the question was asked.
