Police Maoists work together

Bardiya, May 23 - In a rare incident, Maoists joined police and helped to manage crowd during a health camp in Rajapur, Bardiya on Monday.
When the crowd became increasingly difficult to manage for the police they called to Maoists for help. In no time comrade Mashal, a Maoist cadre, appeared and started managing the crowd.
Police and Maoists, both in civil uniforms, have been co-operating each other in the free health camp being organized by Regional Health Directorate since Sunday. The health camp will conclude on Saturday.
The police and Maoist volunteers have been working together in helping people queue-up, get the pamphlets and go to the specific doctors. According to our local correspondent, they are even seen cracking jokes during leisure. "We have been co-working with the police. We have been communicating well and the whole environment is cooperative," comrade Mashal said.
In an area affected most severely by the Maoist war, both police and the Maoists seem to have been enjoying better and freer lives in a changed political scenario after the recent people's revolution. "Works have been a lot easier," Narendra Rana, a policeman in the Rajapur base camp told our correspondent. Organizers have been hailing the Maoist support in controlling the crowd.
At least two thousand people have been receiving treatments daily in the camp volunteered by a team of police headed by a sub-inspector of police and another team headed by area incharge of the Maoists.
