Definitely, not. Because their landmark songs will keep them alive for generations to come. Their heart moving songs like "Pahilo junima.., Parelima..,Yo man ta mero Nepali ho.. and Sambodhan.." will forever be remembered and appreciated.
But, the question everyone has at the tip of their tongues is, "Will this band continue as a group and craft songs for their followers and music lovers alike or will the band split?" Rumors are floating that the band may split any moment. WHY?? Here are some grounds to justify the buzz.
For reasons, the band members are busily involved with their individual musical careers. The lead singer of the band, Adrian Pradhan recently came out with his debut hit solo album, "Aaja". He is all set to release his second solo album and has just returned from a musical tour to Korea (the other band members were not involved). The singer and lead guitarist Feroz Syangden is also releasing his debut solo album soon. The band's other guitarist Manoj KC is a talented music arranger and is involved with different music arrangement assignments. His recent arrangement for Sabin Rai's song ,"“Ma Sansar Jitnae Aant Gardaicu"†had nominated him for the 8th Annual Image Awards as an arranger. The band's other members, Sanjaya Shrestha and Nirakar Yakthumba, these days perform at Moksh (a bar in Pulchowk) for a newly formed band "Stupa", which has Yubaraj Chettari also known as Veeku on vocals, formerly of the rock band "Rusty Nails" (a legendary rock band from Darjeeling).
If rumors are to be believed, there are personal differences between the band members. They are only together for the BAND’s sake.
It's a world trend or let's put it this way-it's a rock and roll trend that many hit bands have eventually split. Take for example the Beatles, Eagles, Pink Floyd and the former Nepali band "Prism". Are they following them in their footsteps?
A source informs us, "The band cannot just afford to split at the moment because their latest album is to be released soon. And, that they are also going on a world tour to 16 countries including Germany and different Gulf countries next month."
Today, 1974 AD is a big name in Nepali music industry. To achieve this success, the band has traveled through highs and lows and equally had their supporters encouraging them to transcend high. Now, after establishing this revered image, will a SPLIT be justified? Yes, counting on their individual rationales, it might be good that they go their separate ways for the moment and hopefully reunite. As Don Henley of the Eagles said, “We never broke up. We just took a fourteen year vacation,†perhaps they should do the same instead of splitting forever.
Our hope and wish is that they keep their fans who have followed their career sincerely and lovers of their music in mind, if they indeed have intentions to call it a day. Let us hope they sincerely contemplate their split. As a fan recently put it across with the line from the song saying, “Yo man ta mero Nepali hoâ€, it would not harm to say that “Yo Band (1974 AD) ta Hamro Sangeet hoâ€. The fans should have their say.

About 1974 AD, I'm one of their craziest fans. I'm just worrying that as Adrian came out with his debut solo album already and Phiroj is also following the same step, is the band members trying to split? I won't be able to see the band members breaking. They should bring out their individual talents but we, their fans don't want to see them break. Without Adrian, Phiroj and rest of all members the Band can't be success as now. Finally, I'd like to wish for their wonderful trip to Europe and hope to catch their next album here with me.

It's really good for us if they work together than separate their ways. They should establish a music company in which all members of the band can teach the music students. If this happens, then they can earn name and fame too. They have to believe in group works.

Actually the band which says, 'Yo man ta mero Nepali ho' should not split.They are the well known and the most popular band of Nepal. They should not break like the 'Prism' band. Instead, they should be an example for the upcoming bands and create the record of the band for forever and ever. They should be the example for not only Nepal but for the whole world.

I was really shocked and in fact shattered to read the article "Is it a final curtain for 1974 AD?" that the sensational and the most admired band in Nepali music scenario are going to split!!! They better not do it for their fans sake. Be it Adrian or Manoj or Phiroj , they should not forget that it was 1974 AD that made them otherwise they were just nothing. We 1974 AD fan want more nonstop 1974 AD songs, not the hell their solos!!!

It's not digestible to me and all the fans of this band. I mean how can they? So many young bands have followed them and they are their idols. I, like many others have grown up listening to them. It's completely a bad idea.

1974 AD is the best freaking band the country has ever seen. Their Rangashala concert was a landmark concert. Our generation needs them to be around. I really hope 1974 AD keeps rocking and though it seems as if the band members seem occupied in their own worlds, and why shouldn't they? they r great musicians individually too. The band has a bond that reflects in their music. For me their "Pareli ma" and "Hinda hindai" are the best Nepali songs ever composed. I really hope that this story's a joke coz we really love and need them.

I would not like the band to split because I think their unity was their first step in the music world which made them popular and liked by many Nepalese. I think they should be together and I like them a lot. I love their songs and their live performance.

After being together for so long, touring, performing and being away from home,they deserve to take a break. We as people should respect their decision. I have personally met them and hanged out with them in states. I say, they are the only Nepali band who has been touring successfully in various parts of US for long now. Let them take their time out if they need to. I respect whatever their decision is going to be. If they do split, imagine when they get back together, how wonderful and huge it is going to be. Hopefully they will not split but if they, we as fans and people should respect that and we will always love them.

I really admire 1974 AD coz I like blues and jazz. This is the only band that provides us such music. their songs like "Pahilo juni ma", "Sambodan" and "Kahile kahile" was just a gem. I really think that there's no such vocal in Nepalese musical arena like Adrian Dai. Well, talking about the total band, I can't find such band in Nepal, so if its true that the band is splitting, it is really very mundane for music lovers like us and if it is just a rumor, I thank God and pray lord that 1974 AD must never split.

Well there is no doubt that 1974 A.D. has been able to establish themselves as the most happening rock band till date and they deserve the credit. They definitely have worked towards it. The best thing about the band is their togetherness. If they are able to stay as a band then that is their achievement. But you have to move on in life. If there are differences amongst themselves then there is no point sticking together. They should just split and do what they can do. If they want to go solo, all the best to them. I know they are great musicians and as long as they keep making good music, there is nothing to complain. Wish them all the best if at all the rumor is true. But they are a true rock band. So "Keep Rocking" in solo or as a group.
