I have heard several times that King Mahendra sold Narayanhiti to "the government" for a wad of cash... so that the real owner of Narayanhiti complex is Nepal Goverment, and not the royal family any more. Does anyone know the details of this transaction (if it took place). When? For how much?

If it is true... well then that is prime PUBLIC property in the center of a city lacking green space. A good location for a big public park, a national museum, and a national library. And someone please tear down that eye-sore 10 meter fence!

Jaya Nepal, Sri Paanch, Jaya Pashupanith, Jaya Hindu, Jaya Humanity!

I am proud of the King's worth. And now we should get rid of corrupt politicians and terrorists (SPAM) so that we can have some sane people around!

Nevermind. that looks like Pokhara, with the Fulbari hotel near the lower left corner, and the Bijayapur khola on teh right side.

Looking at the shape of the mountains we see that Google Earth needs much finer resolution topo data if they want realistic 3-D representations of the Himalaya.

Thanks Lute,
That was a "fine mess" of words you commented. But its true that Sunita finds the Everest MOMO "All natural artificial flavor " on it. Sunita was my wife I met her in France while almost suddenly i ran into her. I was the head of the Clerk in the Department of Interior (responsible for everything outside).

Thank God I'm an Atheist.

Long live Sunita, may her soul rest in peace.

Daky
