Maosists terrorists protest against the Nepal Govt budget!
Ridiculous, what do these terrorists know about budget? I guess extortion is their first $ word and then MONEY FOR THEIR TERRORISTS
This is Height of stupidity!!

Prachande says promote tourism!
WHAT?
Does he know how to spell 'TOURISM'??????????????????????
I guess tourism for people to visit site of TERROR KILLINGS, AND TO VISIT SITES OF HIS 14000+ KILLINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sick and shameful!!!!!!!!!!!

WHY is Nepal's media giving importance to these terrorists?
I guess because they know that Nepali citizens suffer from general anesthesia and will not react ever to anything!! While the common & poor people suffer, shameful!!!!

SHAME ON ALL OF US FOR LETTING THIS HAPPEN, WE CAN'T BLAME ANYONE ELSE, FIRST LET'S POINT THE FINGER TO OURSELVES FOR THIS SICKENING SITUATION.

Wake up guys, stop stupid comments & blogs.
Use construcitve energy for something useful BECAUSE NEPAL IS IN A STATE OF CRISIS, REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Royalists and some cunning politicians try to brainwash people against maoists, like Bush did to americans before Iraq war. By repeating the same thing again and again. In our case by repeating the death of 14,000 people and labeling the maoists as terrorists.

So people who haven't tried to analyze the root cause of the problem and haven't kept up with details of the news are most likey to be brainwashed.

Time is a great healer, and every leader know it, so everyone is going slow, blaming monsoon summer heat and its stress on physical and mental heat. Some bloggers even had to take sick-leave, it is only we still trying to "Tatai khau-jaldi maram".

"P.S -- If feeding the hungry and giving money to poor is revolutionary , then i will support it." - nightcrawler

Are you sure you don't live in Mars? Either that or you have been living abroad since "dinosaurs walked on the planet". You don't have the faintest of clue what you are even talking about. Infact it is the opposite of what you say. They have been robbing the poor villagers of thier food grains and whatever little savings they have. Jeez, you are not on a crack, are you? I nearly fell off my chair when I read that absurd sentence of yours. If anything they have driven people out of thier homes for "failing to meet thier demands". There has been no let up on extortion and donation drive despite the declaration of "ceasefire", rather they have intensified them. They continue to levy "taxes" under different pretexts.

"People die in war, I am pretty sure Mr.Prachanda didn't wanted to kill people , but it had to be that way. Its not like he wanted to kill them for no reason."

You kill people just because they do not agree with your views or kowtow to you, and you call that a war? And what sort of war is it anyways when it's the poor people that are being killed? War for what? To bring a communist state that is going to make Nepal the poorest country in the Universe?

I suggets maoists to focus on this, their by product of the revolutionary pill which can prove a serious flaw as they try to sell it.

Diomonds cuts diamonds, and involvement of the maoists to disarm them and mainstream them is very urgent and necessary. Let us not scron over it, to regret later, as we always do...

Maoist breakaway group worries MPs

POST REPORT

KATHMANDU, July 13 - Parliamentarians have asked the government to take seriously the activities of theTerai Janatantrik Morcha (TJM), a breakaway faction of the Maoists, as it has become increasingly aggressive in the eastern Terai in recent days.
Speaking at the Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs and Human Rights Thursday, they urged the government to take measures to address the problem posed by the TJM before it spreads to other parts of the Terai belt in the form of communal violence.

"They have reportedly been equipped with sophisticated weapons, even more [sophisticated] than that possessed by the Maoists," said lawmaker Suresh Kumar Karki at the meeting.

Reportedly led by former Maoist leader Jaya Krishna Gohit, TJM's activities have increased in Saptari, Siraha and Rautahat districts. The armed group is currently targeting people who are migrants from the hills or are just staying in those districts. The group is also involved in abductions, killings and terrorizing people. Recently the group abducted two government customs officials and released them later. They also killed two Maoists.

Speaking at the committee, parliamentarians asked Home Minister Krishna Sitaula, who was present, not to underestimate the activities of the TJM as past governments did in the case of the Maoists.

Home Minister Sitaula said the government is serious about the problem.

maoist insurgency was the result of perpetual neglect of poor rural nepal by the kathmandu elites. period.

you talk about 14000 deaths. big deal. how about thousands who die each year due to lack of clean water, sanitation, food , shelter and lack of health care. what about the perpetual injustice to these rural folks.

I personally do not know who is or what prachanda is. and quite frankly i don't care. i do not support communism because it doesn't work. the only good communist is a dead one. i do not condone the thousands that died because of the uprising of maoist.

however i think it has opened eyes of some people that you can only neglect something for sometime not for ever. Bhayebhar ko Budget is spent in kathmandu. bahira ko lagi chai Geda.

if rural nepal were decently progressing maoist would have never stood a chance to do much. kathmandu ko Buho harulai rajniti ko gaff didai thikka budhi haru lai mandir chad parba gardai thikka keta keti harulai mojmasti gardai thikka. Maobadi le naka banda garera hahakaar bhayepachi balla kathmandu bahira ni sansar cha bhanne thaha paye..

Bhole nath le sabai ko klalyan garun

Nope, nothing can justify the culture of violence and murder of the maoists, however hard you may try. Prachanda is a mass murderer just like Stalin. Period.

Also, we have set a very dangerous precedent by surrendering to Maoists voilence. The people and the nation should have taken a strong and unwavering stand against terrorism. We should have made it very clear that terrorism was unacceptable in any shape or form. I think the recent turn of events have proven that terrorism pays and has emboldened and encouraged the sections of our society that have grievences against the state to take up arms. Just watch, there will be another armed rebellion by another group soon. Nepal is in for a long haul. I mean in a society there are going to be diverse views and voices. You don't kill people to have it your way. Killing people isn't the answer. The nation should have been very clear on that.

i wonder why Nepal is embracing those who were responsible for thousands of deaths over the last decade, and distancing those who kept Nepal united for over 200 years?

Is this threat of disintegration and extreme measures, just bargaining chips or a seriously hatched conspiricy.

He warned that Nepal would disintegrate if the citizenship issues of the Terai people are ignored. "The Terai people will no longer remain silent spectators if they can not exercise their rights," he said.

Likewise, Madhesis will not participate in the election to the constituent assembly if they continue to be deprived of citizenships, he added.

Prachade, Baburam and all his followers should be taken together at tudikhel and then hit them with a missile so that we can create a maoist free nepal.
I am very dissapointed the government too..after everything that has happened in the past few years..these maoists are walking freely now..even the captured ones are freed..
Man these leaders should be assasinated..I would be happy if they get assasinated.

Hey tell those bastards Maoists that they are not eligible to protest on the budgeet. They have never shown any action towards building any infratructure, all they did so long is DESTUCTION... and yet, as we know they have no shame or guilt, and making noise in insignificant decibles.

I was having some healthy discussion with ImI. I think this thread is better than the one(Uncontrolled housing) in which we were discussing... So I'm just copying and pasting the posts here.

ImI said Posted on 07-14-06 8:14 PM Reply | Notify Admin
There is still hope !!!:) sajahuser .. but i have no hope with visionless leaders!!!

Still there can proper community developed , roads can become bigger..if only people are willing to do it or give it!!but we cannot force anybody..

they should stop any new building construction in Patan, and kathmandu ..old towns..just like in Bhaktapur..

Govt. + Private investment should do housing projects in area.Depending population density.

The illegal buildings need to be demolised..
If one does have more than 1 roupanee.. they should not be allowed private house construction .. depending upon colony type.

House in certain negibourhood cannnot exceed certain height depending upon..commerical, residential or housing apartment community..

well .. is there any leaders who can even think???????

It is true that houses are tight in ktm, but then it is an old city. Old cities in europe are quite dense too. how can you expect the cities to be like the ones in US where all cities are pre-planned and where land is so much cheaper than in ktm?

About leadership, one person cannot really think for the whole country. They need information to make descision. Freedom of press plays a key role in process of development and restricts the politicians from wrong doings. But that is not enough; a strong opposition party is needed to put the leading party in line. If all power goes to king then there will be no one to oppose him and after all he's not any smarter than the politicians. he doesn't even know what the people need/want.

Throughout this revolution I have seen the maoists acting as the opposition party, although they are not officially. They have forced the leaders to think. And when the politicans get forced, they try to do right things. Otherwise their head might get blowed ni....And as the democracy evolves the politcians will seek technical advice to make feasible plans. They will have to seek advice, if they don't, the opposition will criticize and protest them. That's what happens in democratic countries right? Ofcourse the politicians head doesn't get blown for not doing the right thing in developed countries, the law punishes them. But in Nepal there was a sense of lawlessness for the powerful and the elites. And only because of the revolution, has the law started to form as maoists take law in their own hands.

ImI said: What was stopping them to get technical advise before????Just like the same king!!!!

aren't these the same leaders???wasn't main opposition party UML strong??? didn''t girija killed so many uml cadres in 1992-3.Think!!!now only you can blame king and blah blah.. same girija killed uml opposition parties cadres during democracy!!!!incase u have forgetten i am reminding you and others as well.
when one person takes law in their hand it is very hard to give power. remember that. You are supporting maoist wrong acts . you will very soon regret it!!!!

ON HOPE:

Sajahuser..i do not want to say don't hope but in two years you will be sad and i won't be cause you hope that why u get sad.. i don't hope and expect ..so i have no reason to be sad. This is my word ..note it down..in your brain.. you will be upset..I have analyzed in lot of ways ..how this country is going to turn out!!!!so good luck .. hope is funny word..especially in the case of Nepal!!!!

On the topic:

Land in Ktm expensive than USA???hmm...ok
who said destroy all the old bulidings ... are you nuts??they are the main attraction of KTM!!!

sajhauser said: Posted on 07-15-06 12:09 AM Reply | Notify Admin
Although I hope for better Nepal, I haven't expected Nepal to develop in 2 years, infact not anytime soon. Successful development is a process that starts from grass-root level.

Strong force like maoist wasn't there to force the politicians to even think in 92-93! And who did Girija kill? Please make it clear. okay even if you assume that girija killed UML cadres, then you must also know that politicians only know language of blood. so to bring them in line one has to use weapon too. Because even if you sing slogans of justice at the top of your lungs there is going to be no effect on the current(same) politicians when all they do is fight within themselves for power. so need of weapon was a must.

Yes, it was dangerous when one person(gyane) took all the power. I am not talking about one person taking all the power. I'm talking about multiparty democracy.

If things don't turn out to be the way I hoped for, I will not regret it. Because right now, i know there is no other way...

And ImI, you said you've already analyzed and thus you see there is no hope for nepal. Why should I believe you? you don't have strong points that support the type of conclusion you make.

So all you're doing here is bring negative and pessimistic views that doesn't help anyone but the king. Thus you become a royalist even if you don't want to.

I believe there is hope for Nepal . We just need a leader who will put the country and its people first. The leader that Nepal has never experienced before. We dont need much to get better. We dont need to industralize our nation all we need to do is,

1. Sell the religion, market hinduism to 900 mil hindus around the world. Market Buddism to 375 buddists around the world. We can achieve this by aggressively marketing religion through out india and the rest of the world. We need a strong leadership and state run organised religion related economy. As in exploit the popularity of Pasupati. Market it like its a mecca for Hindus. Make a transparent system to monitor expenses and income thru religion. I learned that there is a huge temple in india somewhere and they have seperate lines for ppl to get into, like 5000 Rs line 10000 rs line 20000 line and such. If we do something like that in Pasupati as well we can just make so much money thru those rich indians who want to see pasupati in shivaratri and other occasions but dont due to extreme crowd. We can do the same thing with buddism as well.

2. Sell the tourism. We have abundant resources of rafting, hiking, trekking, scenery, culture, and history to sell it to the resto of the world. We need an expert management with aggressive marketing on that as well. This can create so much employment there would be no need for poor ones to join maoists anymore.

3. Water resources. After getting politican stability find fair foriegn investors who will be willing to invest in water resources benefiting both the country, ppl and the investors.

4. Aggressively promote foriegn employment. Organize a state run foriegn employment. Make the government involved with it. Help ppl with loan with low interest to get foriegn employment and have government guarantee that instead of all those labor delears who cheat and rob poor ppl. Make fair and easy policies for everyone to seek forign employment. So that jobs at home would be more available for those who cant go outside. This way poor would rather go for foriegn employment than join maoists.

I know that i dont have enuff vision on nepali politics and how it works but im sure that a strong leader with great vision and patritiosm can acomplish this. If all this is done may be nepal can afford free education for up 12th grade and may all neplese can afford enuff food and health care. All those things that i have mentioned above seem simple and easy for me and yet we cannot get that done.
