I have to move to Charlotte..no choice...it is work related... thanks for the info though.. After googling for awhile, i found few websites which were helpful. Seems like the houses in Charlotte area is pretty cheap, which is a good thing... Compare to Virginia and Maryland, that is ! Hopefully i could find extra help about charlotte area , here in Sajha!!!

But as far as small business and total population, and city itself, would you think its a big city, or is it kinda small town.

Aakash bro....moving to NC??? There are lots of nepalis in Raleigh area but I don't know about Charlotte. NC has a nepali organization "Nepal Center of North Carolina", but I couldn't even find their website....may be you will have better luck. Good luck with the move....hope it's a smooth transition.

There are quite a few napalis in Charlotte but not as many as in Greensboro or Raleigh/cary area. This is beautiful city with four seasons, booming job market, decent housing with lot lot of things to do. Questions, let me know...

Belmont area is slowly picking up by the homeowners. This area is still being discovered by builders and homeowners alike. Belmont city overall used to be a textile/manufacturing hub in charlotte area but with all the outsourcing, all these industries have moved to either Mexico or China. This area can offer a very best value for your money. South/south-east side is steaming hot right now and property value have sky-rocketed in few years. There is not such things as areas to avoid (who is buying property close to downtown anyway?) but there is always a tradeoff between value and worth. If you want to live and can afford charlotte downtown offers excellent condos in a reasonable price.
