Does anyone know if the computer bought in US can be used in Europe?

I know that there is a difference of 220 Volt vs 110 Volt between US and Europe.

Will this affect my laptop bought in US?

go ahead .. use your laptop anywhere :) .. all laptops have a range of 100~240. Check on the supply of the laptop just to be sure :). It should have the input voltage ratings.

But don't forget to take a multi-plug/converter (whatever you say). The sockets are different. We recently had problem with it.

gham pani,

dont need to worry about any parts other than the SMPS (switiching mode power supply), a small power box that is generally at the rear top of the CPU unit. check and make sure if it ONLY takes 110V or dual 110-220 input. if it is dual, you are fine...you can plug it in anywhere in the world, else you need to either change the SMPS unit to make it dual or 220V input only. or else buy the one which has dual or 220V input capability.

and if you are talking about Laptop, same applies for the "charger" and not the SMPS in this case.
