"Loote, ma toefl didaichhu two months pachhi"---pradip told me anxiously.

"good, raamro score lya hai, 290+..."---i encouraged him.

pradip was a dear friend of mine...i had not seen him for a while--2 years to be precise, until i got a chance to get hold of him during last winter when i was in nepal. he was a colleague of mine in the company i worked for as an intern while i was doing my undergrad as an exchange student. his honesty and modesty appealed me to a great extent, "a nice guy" perhaps would be a mean gesture to his flawless image. he was very hard working and meticulously disciplined in most of the aspects of life. needless to say, he was one of my best buddies during that period of my internship and we both were fond of each other.

"la malai pani tetai tira taan hai loote"--he said taking a sip of coffee at Nanglo restaurant in King's way.

"haha, kasari taanne yaar, dorile ki mayaale"--i acted humorously.

"talai sab thaha hola ni tehaan ko raamro naraamro universities...malai refer garr hai"--he said.

pradip's family had a weak financial background so coming to US with own funds was a distant dream for him. i was one of his hopes. he thought i could arrange scholarship for him in my own school.

"toefl ra gre raamro sanga dey...ani prof lai bhanne kura ta ma bhandi halchhu ni"---i always encouraged him..and i knew that given a chance he would do well.

"thanks loote, i am really hoping on you hai! talai thahai chha mero condition"--he grinned although i could decipher sadness in his eyes.

i really felt for pradip...laborious and honest guy like him should get a chance to celebrate. "i would definitely try my best to help you out, pradip!"--i said.

====
Last night, I was chatting with a friend of nepal. after an hour long conversation, he wrote one of the most shocking lines i have ever read.

"Loote, Pradip has expired, he is no more with us!"

i went numb...my mind did not work for a minute....the image of his desirous eyes craving for success started coming in front of my eyes and all the promise i made for his arrival started to tease me. i broke myself apart..could not think of anything...poor guy, pradip! why is god so cruel at times? what had he done? what's wrong in dreaming for a bright future?

i don't understand death...they say its the last truth of life. but why does truth have to be so notorious, bitter and scary? why did it has to chose someone like Pradip? why????

Sad story. May his soul rest in peace.

If something so serious happened, your friend would have told you that news at the beginning not after one hour.

It is so touching I am also trying to find if there are anything I can prove your story not real.

thanks all for your concerns...

raman.
the friend whom i chatted with was just a casual acquaintance of mine...as a matter of fact he added me in his list just yesterday only....so we were talking about other things pertaining to us (he and me)...he did not know pradip too well but he got the news from somebody. he might have not thought about it in the beginning....or perhaps he wanted to take his time....death news are NOT good news to be shared instantly, mind you!!!

Loote ji,
I am an admirer of your postings in sajha. You write intillegently, too. I am very sorry if my expression hurt you.You can not expect everybody in sajha writing as intillegently as you do. I did not mean to hurt your feelings.I wished it not to be real. What I wrote was ,"It is so touching I am also trying to find if there are anything I can prove your story not real. "

raman ji,

no hard feelings buddy...i was being too emotional...my bad...

over the past few weeks, i have realised that perhaps its not a very wise idea to share one's private emotions, stories and feelings in sajha. people have this tendency to go by the nick and hence fail to perceive and comprehend the emotions of a person behind the screen. and with a damn nick like "LooteKuKur" , things become a bit dicey at times....
