There is a diff between the fight against the terrorist and terrorism. on one hand, where terrorism has no culture, no tradition, no religion, and on the other hand, terrorist do commit these crimes, justifying it with a culture, traditon, and in the name of religion.
also the medium, ( on my opinion) required to eradicate terrorism, might require, more socio economic stability, political stability, social awarness, cultural / tradition transformation, openness and better understanding of diff aspect of human attributes confronting to differentiating between the egoism of labeling which one religion is superior to another and so on. As simple as it sounds, it doesnt bring much on the table when if you see over the last few decade, terrorism as an ideolgy, has succesfully been able to transform itself into a way of life , a bed time story being told to the new generation.
Thousands of ppl came out in the street in iran, celebrating the victory of hezboola ( the peace deal) saying israel was defeated. This does force one to back up and get scared, is this celebration any less than the damage done in 9/11.Apart from the death toll,and financial catastrophy, if the act of 9/11 is to be compared based on the ideology and concept of terrorism, i am more worried about the celebration taking place in these middle eastern countries.
aftermath of 9/11,the govt of afganistan was toppled, and so was iraq, syria withdew from lebanon, and lot of political changes did take place simultaneously with the military actions towards these contries, groups harboring the terrorist group. But yet, again, a plan to blow up 11 airlines was in final stages.
Not only has this proven that a lot more than the military action and financial barricade is needed but also that, these terrorist groups know and are very well prepared to face the action, but still are willing to do commit the crimes.
Military action is definetely need to stop this terrorism, to destroy their resources, and to backdown groups supporting these groups, but more than , an awareness towards humanity, and self respect/ and accepting others view is needed.
Its not the terrorst that gives birth to the terrorism, its the terrorism that creates terrorist. But its easy said than done.
