India eyes over Nepal’s natural resources
Kathmandu, 17 August:
India’s Central Energy Minister Sushil Kumar Sindh has stated that Nepal and India is currently discussing about signing various treaties regarding hydropowers and water resources, writes Yugasambad weekly. Speaking at Loksabha, Sindh stated that the government of India is discussing about signing treaties regarding some of the important rivers of Nepal like Karnali, Sapta Koshi, Sun Koishi, Budi Gandaki etc.
for generating hydro-electricity for India and also creating water supply programs as well. Experts have stated that the interest of India towards our water resources at this large scale is not a sign of healthy intention as there are other similar treaties of the past that are yet to be completed. These experts have also stated that Nepal must not fall victim before India’s selfish desire and let them exploit our natural resources by signing these treaties.
