Tweeeenty.........Kilo..........with Gulf Air...

If you fly with Qatar and have an Ethnic Fare, you may take Thirty...Kilo...with you.

But twenty kilo is more than enough,
Kathmandu has everything, Do not bother to take anything with you!!

Just take 20 Kilo of dollars, You can buy everything in Kathmandu!!!

To take along a bicycle, golf bag, skiing, surfing or diving equipment, advance approval is required. Therefore you will need to make a request E-Service Desk. Please check prior to your travel whether your request has been approved.

If the weight system (KG) applies to your ticket, you will always be charged an excess baggage rate for the transport of bicycles and surf equipment. For golf and diving equipment you will be charged when your free baggage allowance is exceeded. Special rates and conditions apply to sports equipment weighing up to 20 kilos. These rates can be found in the sports equipment table. This table lists the excess baggage rates for a one-way trip. For a return trip, you will be charged twice this fee.
If your sports equipment is heavier than 20 kg (32 kg is the maximum), you will be charged the fee listed in the table plus the standard excess baggage rate for every kilo exceeding 20 kilos.

If the piece system (PC) applies to your ticket, a bicycle, golf equipment, ski equipment, snowboard equipment or diving equipment weighing up to 23 kg will be considered 1 piece of baggage. This also applies to surfboards up to 165 cm (65 inches) in length. A fee will always be charged for boards longer than 165 cm. If you exceed your baggage allowance, you will pay the standard excess baggage rate. This amount depends on your destination.

Ram prasad you should have asked for gulf air frequent flyer card before. you can fill the form online for and get this card for free and you can get about 10 kilos of baggage free to carry for you and your family each time you travel via gulf air.

Secondly, when you take this card each time you travel by gulf air using this card your air miles adds up and in future you get discounts and prizes as well.

Thanks guys....Bidhan408....great idea....next time I will do that. I searched Gulfairco.com and it didn't have details about that......had to call American Airlines as Gulf air from here is operated by American Airlines.....

Here is the break down:

Two luggages each 50 ponuds
Carry on one 15 pounds.

Thanks,

Ram Prasad

Gulf is one of the worst airlines to travel. Few months ago I lost all my luggages while traveling from gulf. It took me about 3 months to claim for the lost luggage. The sevice at gulf air in Kathmandu is worst service one can ever experience. Basically it is a airlines open to carry labours from all over places to GULF. Try to avoid GULF airlines if you can.
