I am a little tight on budget but really want to learn to play a guitar. What are some cheap/free but effective ways to learn it? Good online websites/DVDs/Books?

learn 7 major chods and 7 minor chors.

practice about 50 nepali songs.

don't go for lead until you have practiced about 30 songs.

most of nepali folk songs are only one or two chords.

listen to the songs very carefully and try to play exact.

thats it.

Download guitar pro,,,it will convert any MID files to guitar tab, which you could be played in while yu look at the tab notes,,,and there are MIDI files available for downloads for almost any piece of music,,oh yeah guitar tabs are fairly easy to understand

practice count more than anything else,,in this matter,,,and yeah for advanced stuff there are videos avaible showing people like malmsteem playing theit tricks ,,,
