Ok, enough said and heard. I would like to feel the pulse of the sajha dudes and dudenums...or whatever. If you have been here in the US long enough to know the 'amrican' life, can you list out few things from your own experience to prove that life here in the USA is in fact better than back home.....I seem to be disillusioned by the amrican lifestyle...maybe i am growing old.....

OK, you guys like fasssst food, clean restroom with all its regular amenities, customer service, highways and the ability to drive up to 160 km/hr (note it is Km/hr not miles/hr!), of course the ever running water and hot shower, employment opportunites (vis-a-vis the easiness to spend what you earned 1000 times faster than you earn, greyhound and its lavatory (?? i still need to check this one out), plenty of dating sites for romance or gang bang sex, decent nightclubs and well managed strip joints where you can enjoy company/sex at a reasonable price, education quality and diversity, high speed wi-fi connections of your neighbors and the most popular work place - gas station and the sounds that go with it etc......OK i got the point and I agree with most of it.

What about threat of crime, continued security threats, battery explosions in IBM laptop just before boarding planes (today's news), not being able to carry liquid gels and other cosmetic items in hand carry (for ladies), highway accidents (more than 60,000 last year alone, the highest record ever in the US history!!!), racial discriminations etc....

I think there is two side to every coin and every progressive civilizations has to pay the price for it. It is a package deal and nobody can get away from it. Imagine you are 60 years now (i am not), would you like to live here or retire back home??

it's your perception. good or bad, that depends on how you take it and tackle it. its your imagination, its your expectations, its your goal, its your ability to accept and appreciate.

me personally, i love this contry, as much as i love nepal.

Anyway...what do you hate most in the amrican life....i am sure there are few...such as seeing guns all over the place (even in walmart, won't be surprised if the flower seller starts to sell it!!) to buy it for few extra $$$....too much cheese in all the food you have...great abuse of the word FREE...promotions that cheat you at the end...and the worst is the credit card culture. Do you know the average back balance of amricans is -$4. That is not even no money....it is negative money...how much financially unsound are these so called prosperous amricans are! ......the list goes on and on.... I am sure..

What gives you such ideas dipankar77. What do you drive? Automobiles made out of stone or wood and animal skins and powered by foot like in the Flintstones?
Don’t forget that this is the only country that can get you from Jetsosns. So chill out enjoy and wait. Your -$4 space hover is coming up soon.

Life is what u make of it regardless of where you live.
A better life is a societal illusion created by Us the people.
Comparision is for fools, personal happiness is the key to better life.

Lets think this way. There is no country. we all people are living in a planet earth. If you dont like earth then create a hubble spaceship, and search for another planet. Universe is big enough. you will find one.

I like America (compared to Nepal) because:
- opportunities: abundant jobs, get paid magnitude more
- legal system: no maobadis/gundas threatening you, laws not only in books
- less discrimination (relatively): discrimination is illegal vs right to discriminate
- banking system: fast secure and guaranteed by federal govt
- customer service: world leader
- less pollution: laws against pollution, people following rules
- security: law enforcement & military top in the world
- education: freedom to choose what you want to study
- technology: world leader in most technologies
- people: melting pot/ brain drain
- politics: people not involved in politics
- economy: world economy is majorly dependant on US economy vs poorest country
- entertainment: if you have money, there is more ways to spent than you could ever imagine

Talking about happiness lets see what some people have to say about it.

There are two things to aim at in life: first, to get what you want; and after that, to enjoy it. Only the wisest of mankind achieve the second.
Logan Pearsall Smith, Afterthoughts, 1931

If you want to be happy, be.
Leo Tolstoy

Most people would rather be certain they're miserable, than risk being happy.
Robert Anthony

Happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you will sit down quietly, may alight upon you.
Nathaniel Hawthorne

Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Abraham Lincoln

The foolish man seeks happiness in the distance; the wise grows it under his feet. James Openheim

If you get too late to attain happiness then you would be saying::

What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner.
Colette

Look at the face on Mars. Even she is happy.
