Quran CH 47 sujrah

"spite the necks of disbelievers of allah, whenever you encounter them"

Bible

YOu can rape someone's sister, kill someone's dad, molest some one's son, but if you accept jesus as your savior. u will granted a salvation..

I m not trying to be partial in any case what so ever, but i have this feeling of hinduism and buddhism being much more pragmatic and scientific in a sort of a way...
if any of u have read veda, it clearly states the existence of universe, is totally independent of any supernatural force...Buddhism has the same story, its much more pragmatic and down to earth context..Unlike monotheistic religion that clearly support crusades..hindism and buddhism relays 'the' message of peace..

My words could be interpreted in several way by several opiniated people, but thats the way i feel.. Hinduism and Buddhism are the best!!

Hussain Khan so what if draupadi had 5 husbands? what's wrong in that ? ur mohammad had 4 wives i think.

diversity is the beauty of hinduism. u can live ur life in many ways n still be a hindu. u don't need to go to temple everyday or even in a year and still remain a hindu. u can believe in many gods or one god or no god, u can sacrifice animals or practise ahimsa, u may pray or choose no to pray, u may stay off all substances including alcohol or u can take gaanja as prasad of god, u can sing devotional songs of the gods u worship or u can sing pop bhajans.

the best thing about hinduism is it is eclectic, there are many schools of thoughts and u can choose any among them, u don't need to pray 5 times a day, and u can express any kind of dissatisfaction about ur religion freely without fearing any kind of fear / fatwahs.

after writing 18 'puranas' and 'mahabharata' Vyasa has just written 2 sentences in conclusion, which are the essence of hinduism - " Astaadasha puraaneshu Vyasasya vachanam dwayam, paropakaara punyaya, papaaya parapeedanam' means i have written so many things in these 18 puranas, but the conclusion of all the religious texts i've written is just that ' doing good to others is punya/ dharma and torturing or giving pain to others is paap/ sin'. This is the basic essence of hinduism.

This is quite a complex topic. But anyways,

The Creation of Universe according to Hinduism is not an event that happened once. Creation and Destruction follow each other without beginning and without end, in a cyclical manner.

According to Hindu Cosmology, Creation of the Universe, its Growth and its eventual Annihilation are cyclical processes without a beginning and without an end. Each cycle, known as a Yuga consists of an active phase and an inactive phase, the duration of each of them being 4.32 billion years. Calculations based on published literature in this regard reveal that the age of the Universe according to Hindu Cosmology is 19.252 billion years.

In the beginning of such a cycle, there was nothing in the universe, only darkness and the “brahman” or divine essence / a type of energy. The' brahman' being without trait / features is not describable. When it was time for creation of the universe the 'brahman' dispelled the darkness and becomes 'manifest'. This is the stage of 'creation' whereas it again becomes unmanifest at the end of one cycle by contracting into itself, and this is the stage of annihilation.

......to be continued

Certain adherents of Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism believe that the Universe passes through endless cycles of creation and destruction, each cycle lasting for trillions of years (e.g. 331 trillion years, or the life-span of Brahma, according to Hinduism), and each cycle with sub-cycles of local creation and destruction (e.g. 4.32 billion years, or a day of Brahma, according to Hinduism). The Vedic (Hindu) view of the world sees one true divine principle self-projecting as the divine word, 'birthing' the cosmos that we know from the monistic Hiranyagarbha or Golden Womb.

Hindu

The Mahaa-Vishnu, into whom all the innumerable universes enter and from whom they come forth again simply by His breathing process, is a plenary expansion of Krishna. Therefore I worship Govinda, Krishna, the cause of all causes. (Brahma-samhitaa 5.48)

In Hindu philosophy, the existence of the universe is governed by the Trimurti of Brahma (the Creator), Vishnu (the Sustainer) and Shiva (the Destroyer). The sequence of Avatars of Vishnu- the Dasavatara (Sanskrit: Dasa—ten, Avatara—incarnation) is generally accepted by most Hindus today as correlating well with Darwin's theory of evolution, the first Avatar generating from the environment of water.

Hindus thus do not see much conflict between creation and evolution. An additional reason for this could also be the Hindu concept of cyclic time, such as yugas, or days of Brahma in approximately 4.3 billion year cycles (unlike the concept of linear time in many other religions). In fact, time is represented as Kaala Chakra — the Wheel of Time.

In Hinduism, nature and all of God's creations are manifestations of Him. He is within and without his creations, pervading the entire universe and also observing it externally. Hence all animals and humans have a divine element in them that is covered by the ignorance and illusions of material or profane existence.

In earlier Vedic thinking, the universe was created by Hiranyagarbha (here interpreted as 'the golden embryo') or by Prajapati who was born from the Hiranyagarbha (here interpreted as 'the golden womb'). Prajapati was later identified with the puranic Brahma. Other gods are credited with acts of creation, primarily the act of propping apart the sky and the Earth - gods who are said to have done this include Indra, Varuna and Vishnu. Another myth which began in late Rig-Vedic times with the Purusha Sukta hymn was the story of the creation of the universe from the remains of the primaeval cosmic male Purusha, who had sacrificed himself or been sacrificed by other primaeval beings (not the most popular Vedic gods because they were said to have been born from Purusha after the sacrifice) at the Purushamedha yajna. According to HINDU MYTHOLOGY creation happened gradually. The universe in primitive form was made up of ISHWAR TATTVA, the ISHWAR TATTVA primarily spread homogeneously throughout the universe. SARVESHAKTIMAN and SARVEVYAPAK, were some other names of ISHWAR TATTVA. PURUSHA and PRAKRITI identifies as energy and matter, mixing of these two in different ratios resulted in SATTVA, RAJAS and TAMAS. SATTVA having great amount of energy and little matter, TAMAS having less energy and big matter, RAJAS being in between, are basic building blocks of our Universe. Presently they can be interpreted as Electron, Proton and Neutron. These three basic Gunas in different ratio made five elements, named as Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. These five elements present in the universe can be observed directly by our Ten INDRIYAS, five Gyanendriyans and five Karmendriyans.

This is kind of abstract. But everytime Bramha blinks his eyes a new realm is born. In terms of parallel universe and 6th dimension.

No, it's not for me! no tolerance for the ill doers. i think i heard this saying from somewhere: "pap sahanu, tyo bhanda thulo pap ho". Because you will only be prompting the ill doers if you tolerate them. The best way to stand the unjust (without you getting hurt) is to IGNORE.

to preach religion and to practise religion are 2 diff things. as long as one doesnt become a fanatic about religion, its all cool. religion, no matter which one is a part of us, as long as it just remains a part and not our total identity, there is no harm.

Like one of the greatest philosophers in the planet said, I think, "Religion is the opium of the people." It is so said because when one is attached to some religion, s/he has an attachement with that religion as it would be to opium or any drugs. When one is addicted to the drugs, it would be very hard to get out of it.

When I was very young, I got to read a small booklet of Bible. It was designed in a way that would help young mind to accept the Christianity. I, or my young mind, stumbled upon a phrase, "if you want to go to heaven, you must have faith on Jesus, because Jesus is in the gate of Heaven and only he lets in to those only who has faith on him." Bah! I then thought that Jesus God was selfish! (No offense to Christians, I like the character Christ and I like his being selfless in his real life). And really, how can "God", if he ever exist/s be so selfish? Why one has to have faith on HIM to go to the heaven? Even for a Nepal aama buwa, they treat all their children alike, they have so much love for all children, regardless of their children's attitude to them. How can a man be God-like but God selfish-man-like?!

I don't have much interests on organized religions; however, some are philosophy rather than religion. I like the teachings of the Buddha. Buddha taught science, not hypocrisies. His teaching primarily focus to accept something objectively, not blindly. At some point in his life, even Einstein, despite his being Jewish, has praised Buddha for his philosophy.

There are several teachings of Hinduism that are really very philosophical and deep. I still remember that on my religious brothers said that there is Einstein's formula in Veda--not as E=MC2, but in different words...I don't know how accurate it is....Similarly my physics teacher in Nepal told the class that the derivative is right there Veda, too. He told us that he read that himself...Now I am skeptical if that Newton guy just rediscovered what was already in Veda...

So much to talk about religion (as philosophy), but I think it is imperative (at least for me) to be objective about them and try to enlighten ourselves.

Even if we are to observe religion as religion, "religion is not what we profess, but what we practice."

and moreover nepali hindus and buddhist have this kind of mutual understanding.
i mean look at those freaking crusaders and jihad, and the freaking hindu vs islam in India. The thing is, i feel more than proud when i say i m nepali. yah we have civil war, and we act stupid; but when it comes to the end. we are liberal, peaceloving, unradical ppl..and thats the reason why bob seger wants to come to KTM.

What I find ironic is that Muslims and Christians, worship the same God and both of them have shown how extreme they have been/are (with Christian Crusades, Islamic Jihads) not only against each other but with other religions as well.
I do remember something about Muslims attacking Nepal (the Valley) around the 10th Century or something and destryong the great art that was there.
And to me, it is a sign of failure that even after thousands of years, they (muslims and christians) have not been able to find an equilibrium where they can live in harmony with other diverse people and opinions. Hence, they need some serious reconstruction or preferably, abolishment.
