By saying "perhaps even more" (which I have seen in some of your other postings too), you are hinting that you respect freedom of expression more than the other person. By default, the other person respects FOE less than you do. That's not what people--who claim to respect freedom of expression (FOE)--do; you do not make the other person look inferior by default.

wow! i like the scrutiny in your observation. hehe...have to agree, i tended to be politically correct by putting "perhaps", else i would not even care about it coz i know i respect FOE more than nepalonmymind :P.

talking of FOE, it's a very dicey phrase to be used at times.

see,

let's say a person 'A' says something which he feels.

'B' retaliates and puts forth HIS opinion in accordance to HIS his freedom of expression and says he is offended by A's remarks.

'A' reciprocates and says it's HIS right to express what he feels.

Now who is to decide who is correct? and whose FOE is hindered?

I think, people have misinterpreted 'FOE' at times and have perhaps given too much liberty on individuals to express themselves beyond decency :P. trust me!

as nepalonmymind, i also prefer al pacino to robert deniro, that's my choice. but i wouldn't go to deniro's fan club and ask "do you live up to the expectation?" only to offend his fans because i happen to like pacino more than deniro. yes, i have my FOE, but that by no means implies that you have a right to batter others' sentiments.
