Hey guys does any one know how much it cost to make a Nepali film. Not those kind of Nepali film that are made these days (where Bollywood steels from Hollywood, and Nepali steel from Bollywood)

There is no singing and dancing like as the movie made these days, no nonsense (As a bad Matrix, and jet lee) fighting in the movie. It is very very simple, representing simple life in the film, and yet it is a drama, and a proper story (Not like, son taking revenge over father’s death or so.)
A simple life of young boys and girls of Nepal these days, and what they think, and how they speak.

I may decide to put a music video separate for the film.

Music and background music will be made in Nepal by Nepali musicians, not that type as the back ground music made in 60’s and 70’s for hindi movies. (Dya tda, dissum, Dissum), and the weather changes with the hero’s emotions.

Any guess or Idea, or know any one who can finance it, I may not have the amount my self :o( ??

No. I have one well known new actor in mind, But I also am thinking of putting new faces.... :)

A nepali film budget is between 35,00,000 to 55,00,000 depending on the locations and the technology used. If you are using a cinemascope, the cost will be additional 10,00,000 for camera and equipment hire.
A story on kathmandu, pokhara or the night life or the dons of nepal or even characters or martyers like 'bhimsen thapa', 'kaji amar singh thapa', 'balbhadra', 'arniko', 'prithivi' can alwyas pull a large audience.
just make sure, you are not translating the hindi lines such as 'kukur, paataki ma tero ragat pi dinchhu' or 'timi sanga ke chaa? -ma sanga aama huhunchhaa!'
also make sure that you dont have idiotic lines like 'junga mathaarera, chinejo, kyaanaam, etc'.
make sure the situation and the script makes the audience laugh, not the retarted faces of the comedians'
also make sure that you pay everyone right, not ending with a half film done by one hero and forced to dissappear him and then shoot the remaining with a new hero'
be dead sure that you, your bhatijo, or your choro or even your bahini or saniaama ko maiju ko bhatiji ko saathi etc are in the film just because you know them!'
make sure that the producer or the investor's son daughter are NOT in the film which may require a new storyline and a climax!
you dont need an item song based on a hindi item song!

I am glad to hear that the things you mentioned "NOT TO" do or use are the same things I had in mind.
The story is a sad at the ending, but the story is presented in a funny way. I do not know how good the story is myself, I have told it to some of my friends but of course they encourage you their way saying that It is a good story. But it is a start.

hey i liked the idea of santoshgiri and gurudev.well i m too interested in filmmakings but not in chalchitra kind of movie.i m interested in making documentries abt our local life n things that happen around us.But i dun have idea abt camera and all those stufss but i have many concepts in my mind.Can anyone give me some ideas how much it wud cost to complete a simple kind of documentary but much more meaningful??
