We should be proud that Prerana is taking on the modern version of tapasya that tests a human beings physical, mental and spiritual faculties by demanding discipline, determination, concentration, perseverance, endurance, passion and committment in one single stretch of 26.2 miles. But what one sees on the marathon day is only the tip of the iceberg. Before venturing into the final run, a marathoner will have trained for at least four months and run a total of at least 489 miles. If this is not tapasya- what is? Add in the middle of this, add the stress of organizing a MaHa Sanjh in NYC and concentrating on her Ph.D research, you cannot help be pround of her. We may never run a marathon, but we can at least support her by contributing at
