I might be wrong all along to look differently at this but this puzzled me a lot.....you guys can give me right answer with explanation............

First store has deal explained like this….

4 pack (12 cans * 12) for $11.00 and you get the fifth one free…..

Second store has this deal……….

5 pack (12 cans * 12) for $8.88

My reasoning that the first store’s deal is good (correct me if I am wrong). My math goes like this……..

$11 divide by 4 = $2.75 for one pack.

Since you are getting 5th one free, we can do this (my reasoning might be wrong, but here you go):

$11.00 – $2.75 (as we are getting fifth one for free, I am deducting price of one case from total of $11.00) = $8.25

So it looks like the first store’s deal is cheaper…..what do you think? I might be looking in a wrong way….please do let me know………

Come on! Why do the math if the deal is better off without any math? Okay, anyway, here's the simple math:
You get FIVE pack for $ 11.00
You get FIVE pack for $ 8.88

So why pay $11.00 for five packs when you can get it for $8.88?

And according to my brother, his calculation comes as this:

$11.00 divide by 5 = $2.20 for the first store (Although it says, pay for 4 for $11.00 and get the fifth one free. So total comes to 5 pack for $11.00)

For second store:

$8.88 divide by 5 which comes to $1.78.....

If we look at this way, the second store deals look good as well..........

What do you think guys?

Ram Prasad, you are not listening! :P

The question can sound ambiguous: do you want to find the better deal for 5 pack OR for 1 can? .

This time I am finding for one can. With the simple math, you are paying 11 for altogether 144*4, which is 576. That is 0.019/can.

You are paying 8.88 for altogether 144*5, which is 720. That is 0.012/can.

Ram prashad,
Let me ask you this. Are you high or dumb?
Obviously second option is better. You get five pack for $8.88.

That's cheaper than five pack (four pack with fifth pack for free) for $11.00.

U day saathi.....

I said "I might be wrong".......dude...why do you have to say whether I was high or dumb......I was trying to find which deal is better. If you don't like to answer, keep your words to yourself...and if you want to answer, you can answer in nice way.......I was doing the math and trying to find which deal is better......

Kya yaar....Saturday morning nai kharab garauchau Saathi yaar........

Peace Out

Ram Prasad

And U-day, maybe what you know most, I may understand least hoina ra? I respect Ram Prasad's asking.

Also, maybe we also need to consider and acknowledge that we people in Sajha come from various age groups, hence different academic standards. :)

dude why the hell you put math in something you dont really need to put math in its common sense. Just cuz you get a case for free doesnt mean its a good deal. look Both stores offer 5 packs right? one offeres it for $11 and other offeres it for $8.88 see the difference damn crazy ass people make everything soo damn complicated
anywho
peace

Some people do not get what the question is asking and instead 'insult' someone else's intelligence. I do not think Ram Prasad is dumb! The mere fact that he is interested by this kind of problems makes me believe that he is smarter than at least half of you here!!

Haha..reasoning is good, but I will go with 2nd deal here, which is better than the first one.

Following is my reasoning.
$11.00 – $0.00 (as I am getting fifth one for free, I am paying $0.00 for it so, I am deducting price of this free one from total of $11.00) = $11.00
