I am neither surprised nor amused to read King Gyanendra's message to his countrymen about signing of the peace accord because i truly expected this to happen. The monarchs in Nepal has displayed and proved time and again that they are the only true leaders in Nepal who works solely for the well being of the country without any arrogant and hard feeling of the past. They are more patriotic than any other leaders and loves their country and work for the betterment of the people than any other NC, UML, RPP or Maoist leaders. King Gyanendra took the power on Feb 1, 2005 with an intention of bringing peace to a country, and gave away his power with an intention of bringing peace in the country. He is a lot better than any other leader because he did not take the issue as an ego problem and had no arrogant of being a King, that he was. If you are able to understand the whole scenario, you will be able to realize, the biggest contributor to this accord is King Gyanendra himself. He was the only democratic leader in Nepal after Girija Prasad Koirala (in his currect form) who allowed opponent's voice to come even during his direct rule. Can you imagine protesting against Prachanda without being afraid of personal harm. Give me a name of single leader who will give away all his power for the sake of peace and well being, at the cost of 20 lives (a majority of them were through baton charge used to maintain law and order but not bullets). Do you think, even Girija will do it or Prachanda will, but Gyanendra did. A leader may fail in his objective as he is also a human but a failure does not make him/her a bad leader. A leader becomes a true leader by his intention and in the manner and grace he faces the failure and use the failure for the betterment of all society. I believe, King Gyanendra was true in his intention and gave way for peace and prosporous Nepal when he decided he failed in his objective. My respect for King Gyanendra has increased. Long live the King. Long live Nepal.

Correction: I am not saying the king is mahan.. is he the greatest king or whatever.. i am just saying that you cannot blame the king for what nepal is(Was) going through right now. I know the king didin't do much, as he was suppose to.
BUt do we agree that he took absolute power because he though he could bring peace to the country and punish the curropt leaders? Again, i agree he didnt do what he was suppose to.. the only thing he did was go on a tour to different part of the country and nod his phucking head.
However, he was not a notorious king. He wanted to help.. but the deprived leaders and the money fed people didn't let him. Had everyone cooperated with what he wanted to do without blindly rioting on the streets ok ktm, Nepal would have seen this day a long time ago.

I am amazed at the views and shortsightedness of educated person like 'Hi_nanu' and 'arko' who are so easily swayed away by emotions rather than logic. If King Gyanendra is alleged for ploting bombs, what about the people you are praising currently who have been proved for plotting bombs and plane hijaking. Please, guys give me a break. After killing of 15000 innocent men and women in the name of sacrifice and matrys you coming with a peace accord (still it is not sure if that it will be followed by the signatories parties), and you are putting the blame on someone who is not responsible for anyone of those deaths. Army was put into play by the government of Nepal, not King. Operations like Kilo-sera-2 concucted by political leaders but not the King.

Deshbhakataji...Please let me clear...Neither I am blaming king nor supporting Maoist or any corrupt leaders...

If I were blaming king,I would not have said that:

Powerless King+Armless Maoist+Improved leader=Peace and Better Nepal

And everybody knows about Maoist atrocities...

People will definitely vote against them...(Forgive them, but forget not)

But you guys tell me...how can we praise this king? What has he done so far for the betterment of the country other than rulling the country in advise of "MOOSA(KAMAL THAPA)..."

I was happy about the King's accord. He doesnot have any ego about the power loss. it is a sign of true leader, no matter he tried to do for people's movement in april. What about NC, UML, maoist.. were they the true leader. They started whole problem by themselves, we suffered and now peace. What the hell..... I agree that king went on some wrong move on feb 25 2005 and he lasted for 14 months. On the other hand, these monkeys ( politican) made us suffer for 13 years.

I never believe in what the king said. We have heard such message from the king after every success of movement, after the 2007 revolution, 2046 people's movement and this time as well. But, every message was followed by a conspiracy against nepalese people like 2017, 2059 and so on. The startegy of the palace for now is just wait and see. He is being a republican monarch , thats it.
Now its up to us whether to believe or not if a lion promises not to kill a deer.

I am not praising any party leaders but since Kings for the last twelve generations had free reign over the country, national treasury and army they should be responsible what caused downward mobility in Nepalis people's life. All the property he has amassed is without paying taxes, duties and so on. In accurate terms, it is by exploiting people and being above law. Whoever licked his butt became vice president even when he had to be brought to the country from hiding abroad by defaulting loan. Who spoke against him were arrested under the house and ordinary people were disappeared. There is hardly any difference between Maoists and King. Both are autai dyangka mula. If Maoists killed 13000 (half or more is by then RNA) people, it's the King who gave birth to Maoists and caused all this conflict. If he is a true leader, why can't he step aside now and declare Nepal a republic. That will be eight wonder of the world. Still, I would like to see it.

what the phuck u talking about dawg?
I don't support the king.. but i detest the Maoists. Political leaders aint any good either. They are the sole reason for the birth of Maoists in the first place.
I am for a peaceful and "PROSPEROUS" Nepal. Whoever can get me that, i'll be thankful them. I am (and i suppose all the educated people of nepal) for peace and development.
Jai Nepal.

The king's hailing the peace accord simply means the palace's PR machinery has kicked into high gears ... the king is trying to stay relevant as developments unfold in Nepal rendering him, and more importantly, the institution of monarchy increasingly irrelevant. This peace accord would not have happened under Gyane's watch, so his hailing it can be construed as his tacit admission of failures as the chairman of the council of ministers (made up of his chamchas) of his the then government to bring peace to the country.

If tomorrow the Supreme Court were to hand down a judgement against Gyane for perpetrating atrocities against the Jan Andola -2 protestors and citizens (as the chairman of the said council of ministers), do you think he would hail that, too, as a positive development? I don't think so. Mind you, the Rayamajhi Commission report has accused Gyane of a larger crime - of masterminding the atrocities committed against citizens during his autocratic rule.

As all signs point to the inevitability of the Constituent Assembly elections, the stakes for the king and the institution of monarchy (albeit ceremonial monarchy) have never been greater. The palace and all the reactionary forces must now campaign to affect the outcomes of the elections in their favor. Methinks the king's hailing of the the peace accord signals that the palace's campaign has only just begun in earnest.

Hey all supporter of King Gyanee!

I don't see anything's that makes him to be appreciating. But I have lot of things that he don't deserver to respect but deserver to throw.

1. Suryo tobaco ko company lai aghi badauna Janakpur cigarette factory lai dubayoo
2. Nepal ko murti haru lage re bidesh ma becho
3. Nepal Telecom lai dubauna hartera le kosis garo
4. Power lie year rastra ko sampati durupayog garo
8. Paresh le duniya lai dukhha diyo
9. Birendra ko sampati sabai afno re afno santan ko nam ma rakho.
Many more is there............
---------------------------------------------
Yadi gayane sachai janta parti utrdai thio bhannee teslee power linee bitikai nimna bomajim ka kam haru garthooo

First:
1. He should call Maoist for peace talk and told them to compromise in every issue that for the people of Nepal. He has to call ceasefire.

Second:

2. All the property of the king Birendra can go to a trust.

Third:

3. He increased the expenses of Royal palace. But he has to cut the expenses in that situation.

Many more....................

N.Nepali.. totally agree with u.. i am amazed these royalist still have what they have been fed in their system...Every one in Nepal knows gyanandra was the don of underground mafia during panchayat reign and even after that.. And donot forget royal masacare... Eventhough they said dependra did it, where is the logical investigation where king gyanendra and paras have been given a clean cheat???? After all all the investigations are done on the basis of suspect(s)...Until they r proven innocent I think Nepal is well off without Gyanendra or worse ie Paras...And last thing even if they r proven innocent( which i donot beleive in any case) Gyanendra and sons will not be tolerated as rulers of nepal..

Regarding the Netas that we have right now I think If Girija dies no one of same caliber will ever come in future to handle the country( even though he acts like he is a piece of Shit)...

Totally with you on this one Brother !! What a shame that all other leaders except Girija has the Guts to challenge the Monarchy and the Maoists at the same time, even though we have seen his shares of Corruption, neoptism and all that ......The reason may be that he has a huge support from India.....more than any leaders in the current political arena !

JaiHindu

You are right "Little knowledge is dangerous" and it's really applied 2 you. Really like to laugh at you "UNFAMILIER WITH OTHER MONARCHS IN THE WORLD". You are one who may be unfamiliar with other monarchs in the world. Don't you find any different between England...Thailand.......Can Nepalese monarch comparable to another..............even not comparable to Bhutan. I know, King try to come in the power. if he again try to do something bad.....then Nepalese will hang him.......

It shows king's positive attitude.

My only faith on king is that he loves the country most than any other leaders. It can be said only becuase leaders have shown their real atitude time and again.

I guess he was positive towards maintaining peace in Nepal. But the option he chose was completely the other way, as a result he has been lost on the way. He didnt have good experience, his advisors tried to misuse him for their own benefits.

Things have changed against his favour, but seems in favour of Nepal. We all want things to be in favour of our country rather than the individual. King himself should realise the fact and should have courage to say that he will happily accept the decision of the Nepali people.

So far the fact is that one can not be the leader in Nepal without India's regard. Self declared and so called the most patriot, Prachada himself realised it and showed the common attitude, why he can't bow more than others, in his recent India visit. If he was a real politician and deplomat why should he divulge the offer he got form ISI even if it was true. Isnt it flattering India at the cost of Pakistan?

However my concern is let the Nepalese people decide it by themselves. Parties can go to the people with their policy but not with their gun.Why so called intellectuals in our society are insisting people to go for compulsory republic Nepal. Isnt it against human right? Its people's right to give decison without anybody's intervention. After all Nepalese people have gone through many twists and turns than any other people in the world.
