According to the organizers, due to heavy public demand, they're holding yet another cocert with Raju Lama and Mongolian Heart, Nima Rumba, Tsering Gyurmey, Mingma Sherpa and Sindhu Malla.
Sukmit Gurung will be joining this time along with two very popular Tibetan singers, Phurbu T. Namgyal and Tenzing Woeser.
Oh!!!!! ke ho ticket pani malai matra rebate ma........ ehehehe!!!!!!!!
WEll amazing yar.. ticket pani rebate ma paune....... Well it's not that good to discriminate ....... Well that's a day for all the nepalese people to gather and enjoy a night out there.............So, can't you change the price of the concert......... ticket.........
By the way there are lot's of events going on holidays.. so, in which one to go.. spending $40........... everytime.............. huh ??? I ain't a millionaire............. eheh!!!!!!!!!!!
Rockend - I have no say over what the price of admission should be. As a matter of fact, tickets are printed and are being sold - dhama dham, as we speak/type.
Rebate was offered to you only because of your birthday and that too, I had to ask them. Of course, I could afford to pay you back five bucks or you can't be that needy to begin with - but just thought it'd be nice to show some happy gesture when you are celebrating your birthday.
BTW, it's not $40 this time. It is ONLY $30. So, if you thought it was the first, you just saved $10 already.
Good to see you back 'don_key' - thought you'd disappeared.
And what a way to come back and complain yet decide to go to the show, albeit for Sukmit Gurung. Trust me, organizers are working hard to make this better than the last - proof of which is a phone call I received only minutes ago asking me to help find better sound guys - guess they had gotten some complains about the sound.
Higher demand higher price? Your guess is as good as mine, as I said somewhere above, I have nothing to do with the pricing or much of the stuff organizers deal with. Can't bear to take any headache when I can help it. he he he
hey ssny i will definatly meet u on that concert, are u like any sadasaya of himalayan community or just volunter cause u taking so much positive about the concert and trying to convince guys to go to concert
No, I'm not a 'sadasya' of the Himalaya Community.
Having been in the shoes of these organizers, doing a show or two in the past, I know how hard it is for them to do all this. Understanding this and remembering how appreciative I was when I got some help, I am just a volunteer - giving a little helping hand to my fellow NYkers.
And since the 'products' they are presenting are of such high qualities, amazing singers from Nepal and Tibet (or of Tibetan orgins), it is such a blessing for us all who are so far away from our home country and yet we get to see them here. Why not push a little more so that they get to sing infront of a whole lot more and we get to enjoy the show in an environment of a place that has crowd jumping and dancing with joy!
But quite ironically, I may not even be able to attend the show this time around. I usually am in a ski slope with my family during Chrstmas time and have planned this time as well. But, boy, I want to come up with a good excuse, and if I succeed, surley 'don_key', we'll meet at the Himalayan Musical Concert.
Rockend - Expect an e-mail to your e-mail address used to sign up here on Sajha.com. I will give you an instruction as to whom you have to meet to get your rebate. And if I could make it to the show, would love to meet you as well.
I am so glad you decided to come celebrate your birthday with hundreds of your old and new friends.
Promise given is, consider, promise kept. Rockend - I have sent you an e-mail but just found out that I have a new e-mail address where you can contact me.
And this is not a joke. I'd appreciate it if you could e-mail me your phone number at ssNY@sajha.com.
Without being judgemental and accepting you on your word, can I buy you a beer? $5 rebate sounds so lame now that it's already been offered to one other sajhaite. Let's be innovative with what we can offer each other, or what I can offer?
Here it is again, a video ad, in case the one on this thread gets hidden soon or others haven't realised that it's also on the event section of Sajha.com.
You're giving bad name to the 'khaobaadis' of Nepal who I'm sure don't go after measly $30 tickets. They go for the kill, I hear. he he he
C'mon Khaobadi, someone talented enough to use Adboe Indesign CS2 (whatever that is, sounds high tech), ought to be duplicating better things, don't you think?
Rockend - For a $5 rebate and to have them wish you a Happy Birthday from the stage... I need a little bit more info on you - for a starter, your REAL NAME. No, no, you don't have to announce it here.... you can write to me at ssNY@sajha.com.
Any other suggestions from you? Will be glad to pass it along.
Don_key - request to write to me goes for you too as I've promised you a beer.
Himalaya Community capped off it's very successful two concerts in New York by thanking and handing out certificates last night, December 29, 2006, to all artists and volunteers at Himalaya Yak Restaurant in Jackson Heights, New York.
Gratitude shown by the organizers were immense and the smiles on their faces were just as huge. Except for a few, artists were all there, from professionals to the future stars. Everyone who attended were left with a good feeling that their time and effort were well recognized by these wonderful organizers from the Himalaya Community.
This volunteer, though, was left with a question, who will appreciate these organizers who spent so much time and effort, blood and sweat, in organizing these herculean tasks - from bringing artists (10) from Nepal, 1 from Minnesotta, taking care of all of them here in NY, etc. etc. etc. and then putting up the shows?
