i am trying to build a personal website. I need a domain name and higher data transfer rate. Can you guys suggest me a website which has lower monthly rates.
PS- I've looked geocities and tripod so far...

Why not try GoDaddy http://www.godaddy.com/ it has monthly rates of minimum $3.43 and it gives u 5GB webspace and 250 GB of bandwith/month. I'm suggesting this coz I like it's service and low cost. for more info visit that site.

Use dreamhost, 9.95$ a month with 250GB space and 2TB bandwidth/month .

godaddy is the best one to register for domain name. As for hosting plan,
use this:
