i don't see Why people expect peace in Nepal ? I see plenty of reason for war violence..but don't find why there should be peace in Nepal?

Things need to be settled for good or bad ! I think there should be an all out war.

Then Neps will get new direction; too many forces and ideoligies ; one or two needs to prevail. Go for it; No one knows who will come out the winner ; place ur bets; u might be rite.

So you want to rip apart Nepal for finding a winner! Whole country is going for peace. Only the Mandales want to have an unstable Nepal.

now DUKE1, to ans your Q "Why are neps surprised about war/factions /violence in Nepal?"

that's because ever since the end of 2nd world war we have been one of the most peaceful places on earth. so we took peace for granted and now we're gonna have to pay a hefty price for it!

I disagree with hukka; i didn't say surpriesed? we are talking expectations.

Anyways; in those time Nepal had a winner Monarchy and or Ranas? - i don't see any link with second world war.

Now there is no winner - some ideology needs to win and be accepted ; that;s a way forward.

we don't need another war. extreme ideas must be marginalized. it is grossly irresponsible on those who are advocating war to find a solution. who says different ideas cannot exist in a civil society?
i see why there should be peace in nepal. i am sure most people want peace. those who want death and destruction are in the minority although they might be the ones who are making noise for the time being. right now, my bet is in the on going "peace process." i hope all of us support it too. challenges still exit. but they can be overcome. impossible is nothing.

Surprised NOT becoz we have never-ending violence,
But I am surprised that we, the people are buying what these politicians are selling....

Surprised NOT becoz we haven't built our houses yet (House = our Country)
Surprised that we are happy to destroy what's left of it ....(the infrastructure)

Surprised NOT becoz we have no law in the country
Surprised that we do infact have law in the country, only for the poors, disabled and the likes
