Our countrymen are talking about NEW NEPAL.Being positive, let's hope for better Nepal...We can not build new Nepal just by talking...it is time for act and let us act together...Let's build sajha fund and contribute for education in Nepal...

How can we contribute?I have my two cents here and add yours and finally we go for consensus.
1) Let's contribute $5 initially to become a member of sajha(Not for SAN)
2)Let's contribute 5 cents per posting to any thread.

If San manages the way to contribute,I just start contributing now..
There may be lots of other ideas for Sajha fund..Please come forward ...

This is time for contributing to build new Nepal...Let's forget which political beliefs we have for next 10 years...Let's do something for better Nepal...

Be positive,let's start now..

NO ONE IS RAISING ANY FUND TO MAKE THE BIG FAT POLITICIANS FATTER.
UNLESS WE SEE TRANSPERENCY AS TO WHERE THE FUND ARE GOING .....HE HE
YOU CAN STOP TALKING ABOUT IT.

Mike dai,Chitwan ko tyo parsa bhanne thauma eti daani manchhe rahechhan ki eutaile 17 lakhs donation garechha(we in America just talk),that place has very good school and people from those area do not need our help, they are building school and campuses themselves...we need to focus backward area not parsa,kathmandu,Biratnagar,Pokhara..there are other places where we can do something...

In another note,I don't think that we are talking here to prepare budget of Nepal...small contribution will be added plus in process of restructuring Nepal...

Thanks for taking a look at this thread though

How much money you can accumulate? For how many years? After that.........?
We need sustainable development and donation never favours it. If you really want to contribute something to your country then come back with some expertise and experience that your country is really seeking for.

well...there are number of opportunities to help build Nepal according to the vision we have....as Gurudev mentioned, we need to take the lead and others will follow. The suggestions, sarcasm, and pessimism put forward by our peers are all valid in their own regards but i guess we should rather focus on one agenda and try to make contributions on one aspect that we all think is pertinent to the current situation back home. Personally, I would like to contribute towards education and help educate children who are deprived of it. How and who? We all can figure that out depending on the concensus of the cohort we would hopefully put together. Like I said, we need people who have the same vision to get started. Rest will follow.

I kinda agree with slow poison. Rather than collecting funds and just distributing it, it would be good if would can build a constant remuneration so that the fund gets multiplied. I actually believe in donations for daily meals. But I would rather believe in providing some free education, or employments opportunities , or some sorts of trainings in remote places like giving sewing trainings for women.

Ok guys, thanks for your participitation...I agree with slowpoison and crystalclear...there should be a long term revenue generation, that's why I ask input from Sajhabaasi but at least you need initiation for that..

And yes Himalaya 178,I really appreciate what sebsonline has been doing and particularly this http://doko.sebsonline.org ...

And Our contribution will be added advantage for Nepal...Nepal needs more contribution from their people leaving abroad...

Please come up with good recommendation how we can participate in nation building...

I see lot of good comment in this thread, many comments that users have come up with are to be thought very seriously and deeply. Nation building is not a child game nor is it something to be taken lightly. And when it comes to the matter of money, it becomes very dangerous game because then trust also follows with it. And trust is something very special, it is like building a tower of cards, if one card slips away the whole tower falls to the ground and you have wasted your time and effort for nothing.

Even if we put all Nepalese living outside together and say they all are contributing some amount, then that amount will be a bucket or a container of water in the ocean. There is too much to be done, but we should find a way to spend that container of water in better way.

I say instead of thinking large area, we should think of miner area. Why take a bite that cannot fit our mouth, or our throat can’t sallow.

We should concentrate on smaller projects, like education, AIDS, Women and so on in miner area or just start small but good and realisable, We could always expand the projects if it goes well. But start by taking just one step ahead. I am sure if our projects works well, there will automatically be other donors from different business firm or originations wanting to help us build our project larger.

We will have to make a complete project plan, on how we are going to proceed, where, what project, who should get involved. And if anything does not go as we planed then what should we do. Simply just make project plans and disaster case as well. There will be lot of paper works to start with, and to make our project the best, we need lot of expertise, ideas and experiences. We will need all the worsted cases that have gone wrong over the years in the similar field and find out why, to make our project strong and working.

We also have to find how we (those who are interested) are going to work, and communicate as we are living apart from each other, se if we can swim before jumping into a pond, instead of judging I can swim just by watching other people moving their hands in the water.

Well this is just my very small opinion, on how and what we should do.

We can also support the small Nepali firms and companies that are suppressed or taken over by big Indian company. We can give them ideas and if needed, then support them through different means like promoting their market aboard, or giving our knowledge of expertise and experience and ideas.

Encourage the young people use their idea by presenting their business plan to us and we could supporting them with small amount that we can effort just to get them start.

Hi everyone, everybody here is correct here with input...but to start a project, you need a team and at least a little fund and I thought sajha will be better place to hunt for a varieties people with various experties..We can find Dr here, engineer here, lawyer here, investor here..any kind of people and can form very good team...So let's build a team first and we move from there...

Anybody interested, please post your interest here or email at sajhafund@yahoo.com for further discussion.

Let's wait until Friday for more inputs and in weekend we will workout how we can move ahead...

Thanks

someone wise once said.........it is foolish to give a hungry man a fish to eat....because his hunger is cured only for that day........It is wise to teach him how to catch a fish.....he then can never go hungry again................everybody would love to help with donations.....but Nanu...even though your intentions are great....people are still worried about where the fund actually goes to....I would love to help out but I need to know for sure if the money we all send will contribute in opening schools.....medical cliniques.......shelter......etc etc........( you see Aid and donation money have a repeating habit of dissappearing in Nepal)

MadDogg, you rightly quoted and we all together can build mechanism through which we can teach people how to catch a fish...If our objective were to buy a dinner for a day for hungry people,it would be easier job to accomplish...as you said, our objective should be having people learn themselves how to buy dinner...and I believe education is the only tool we can offer to kids who deserve to be educated...

Any more suggestions...

each time we post on this thead, discuss the pro and conc, read the therad, someone, in some part of nepal, some part of world is dying in hunger, somone is sleeping in the street, someone is crying for food.

i dont understand this in sajha, what is that needs to be discussed and thought upon, when ones talking about a noble cause, to raise money for nepal is a good reason, its your duty, its your obligations, its a moral reasoning. there was a thread, about ppl living in pashupati, that also died just like that, so forget about comming to concensus and trying to explain everyone...wwhats their to explain, ppl are dying in vail...we can help, contribute if you can....thats it.

so do what you can, doenst have to be in group or anything,,,,do what you can, donate a rupee, donate a dollar, million dollar, cloths, a loaf of bread, doenst matter.....do what you think you can do. everything makes a difference.

thanks.

Mansion, you are right...we should not waste time thinking, discussing for contribution just need to go in action...but while doing something yourself you can initiate other people coz your lonely effort can not be sufficient...and we are discussing here for collective efforts..

And ImI,good to know that you are involved in charity...Best of luck for good work and I have never indicated in this thread or any other thread that charity should go thru NANU...I am just utilizing my time here to initiate people coz I beileve people here in USA?\Europe do love their country and come forward for good reason...

Thank you all and still waiting more inputs...
