Its quite likey that Gynendra did it, seeing the clues left. But you cant write a book on that as if they really killed. It simply isnt fair. What is fair is to scientifically reinvestigate the incident and find out what really happened. The investigation during that time was incomplete, and Girija is to blame for that (coz he was the prime minister).
Sayami, its like suppose, one of your best friend was killed. And looking at the clues, everybody blamed you without actual investigation. It would hurt yuou if you didnt do it, isnt it?
At least, In Gyane's case too, there is some probability that actually Deependra did it. After all he too is a royal and his history isnt good either.

Why Gyane has to comment on this?
It was just a novel based on the interview with witnesses.
He became unquite with this novel. This happens only when you have done a great mistake in your life. Actually Gyane would have put this novel writer in jail or even killed him in Gyane´s Era. It proves that he has his hands in this Royal massacre.
