(i) I have started this thread not to malign anybody but to attack an ideology which is putting a big obstacle to the resolution of Nepalis crisis. No doubt, 8 parties wanted to resolve Nepalis crisis. In their attempts they have bargained hard with each other in order to emerge victorious in CA polls also. At the same time, they could not throw monarchy also. This has given enough time for the monarchists to play and muddy the water. Who is looser and who is gainer is yet to be decided because things have not precipitated so well to make judgement. Madhesh is burning, but separatist calls are attracting common crowd and life has become difficult for common Nepalis.

(ii) Is Madheshi issue so sensitive that it can not wait for certain time to resolve the differences? Definitely not. People who believe in mandate must secure it in legitimate way. Be it MRPF leaders who are spearheading present movement or be it Goit and Jwala Singh, they all need to embrace electoral verdicts to claim their space in Nepali politics. However, thier arm-twisting tactics are sending different signals to Nepalis population and Nepalis are really anguished today. Jwala Singh and Goit has no right to manhandle common Nepalis neither MRPF has any right to attack Nepali security personnel. But in both real Terai and cyber Terai, proponents of present Madhesh movement are raising the pitch and spearheading the movement as if they are fighting against despotic ruler. No need to say, Bahunbaad in 8 parties has fanned the conflagaration. But, who is stoking it from Madhesh are also Bahunbaadis.

(iii) Continuation of violence in Madhesh movement is going to discredit the whole movement. And this is likely to cause irreperable damage because it is likely to galvanize electoral opposition to the cause of federalism in Nepal. Madheshis who claim that they are waiting for this moment must understand this. We agree that some of these people who are raising Madhesh issues deserve appreciations. Their single handed determination is really praiseworthy. But, at the height of moment, the tone and tenor of their language is making all of us suspicious.

(iv) How can proponents of Madhes movement can criticize Gagan Thapa? Gagan has been working for democracy both lokatantric version and inclusive version for a long time. Every youth in Nepal is jealous of Gagan because they could not articulate lokatantric notions as convincingly as Gagan does. Gagan is a rising leadership of not only Pahad but also the entire nation. Still, some proponents of Madhes movement claim that Gagan is trying to patronize. Agreed, Gagan is also in party politics like you are. You are in Sadbhavana or in any other Madhes based party and you may consider Gagan as a potential rival. So, in heat of moment you try to claim that Gagan is trying to raise his stake in fire of Madhesh movement. But, whatever you have said about Gagan can not be applied for Krishna Pahadi. Krishna Pahadi is more articulate than both you and Gagan and he deserves appreciations because he is not considering himself for any lucractive positions. And here also you failed to restrain yourself and kept on attacking Krishna Pahadi as appropriately named Pahadi.

Yeah! Enough. It is too much to bear with your whims. Till yesterday I was thinking that you are getting carried away by your emotions attached to present movement in Madhesh. However, after reading your verbal diatribe against both Gagan and Krishna Pahadi, I am convinced that you are sectarian, separatist and thriving on some petty thoughts to revenge your personal humiliations by Nepalis in hilly area. However much hurt you are and however much abused you are, you have no right to humiliate and abuse others who are no way connected with your personal tormentation. You may have been abused in your school or you may have been abused in your job, but you can not abuse entire Nepalis in retaliation. If you fight for a cause, we will support you. You give arguments against Krishna Sitaula, we agree with you. You demand resignation of G.P. Koirala, we agree with you. But, if you keep on instigating relatively less educated but more emotional Madheshi Nepalis in the name of Terai mata to torment other Pahadi Nepalis we can not tolerate you.

(v) Jwala Singha and Goit has started to practice "kill, loot and scoot" policy to raise their political shares. And even from US , you are provoking people in same manner. This is where you have made mistake. Whatever Jwala Singh and Goit has done may be forgotten very easily because they worked on ground and without any proof. But, your antics are going to leave great deal of proofs both as blogs and your e-mails. If you think that you will be forgotten so easily by the relatives and nearer and dearers of the ones, both Madheshis and Pahadis and both Martyrs and non-Martyrs who bore the brunt of this movement, then that is your mistake. Even now, people are baying for your blood for insults you have heaped on them by your uncalled for intrusion into their privacy through nonsensical e-mails. How you will save your skin when some of them have to bear real casulty of nearer and dearer ones?

You don't know all these things because you lack civility and you are provoked by Bahunbaadi forces both in Nepal and India. Bahunbaad is a curse for both India and Nepal. I think your relatives might have told you about this. I have read somewhere that some of them were in Lalu cabinet also. Then, you must have understood that you can not burn your political roti by playing into Bahunbaadi gameplan. Yeah, the whole madhesh movement is nothing but a Bahunbaadi gameplan to keep Nepalis captive of their sorrows.

Bahun friends of Nepal must know that by referring to Bahunbaad I am referring to a political ideology which is known as "Hindutva" in India. And by attacking Bahunbaad, I am plainly attacking that Hindutva doctrine. I am not a communist but I am a social democrat. My agenda is peace and I do not like to see any Bahuns suffering because of my statements against Bahunbaad. But, after a long time while witnessing silently the massacare of our political values, I could not control myself and hence came forward with a solution of resovling our crisis-that is annihilation of Bahunbaad in both Nepal and India.

Whatever present proponents of Madhesh Movement are doing is politically going to benefit King Gyanendra. I do not have any concrete proofs that BJP is trying to help Gyanendra. But, present circumstances have demoralised political leadership of Nepal which is at odds with Gyanendra. People who oppose Gyanendra never work in his favour. This is why I am claiming that this entire Madhesh movement is handiwork of supporters of Hindutva and Indian Bahunbaad. Indina Bahunbaad is more dangerous than Nepali Bahunbaad.

Now, let me come to the proponents of free-media in Nepal.

(1) Dinesh Acharya: This guy is writing nonsensical blogs in www.hamroblog.com. He may be thinking that he has been able to expose Natwarlals. On the otherhand, he is giving unnecessary importances to the agents of Bahunbaad. If somebody is not hand in glove with Bahunbaadi forces, then they should never give importance to such dubious characters. Somewhere, that guy wrote that "....the same …… agent wrote "manu makhu marsya kha." Yet, he has to counter the claim by original author who commented in the same blog to produce the proof. Follow these links:
http://www.hamroblog.com/?p=304#comments and see comments no. 32 and 33.

These comments show that Dinesh Acharya is giving unnecessary importance to this agent of Hindutva. Moreover, when the original author himself made comments, Dinesh must have come forward with some explanations.

Sayami's posting : http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/OpenThread.cfm?orum=2&ThreadID=41130

(2) Ashutosh Tiwari aka Ashu in Sajha : I think that I have crossed swords with you when we discussed the issues of Kathmandu University herein Sajha. At that time you wrote that: ( http://www.sajha.com/sajha/html/openthreadall.cfm?StartRow=21&PageNum=2&forum=2&threadid=32977)

[ I am no relative of Sharma. I do NOT know him personally, though I have met him twice (in 2002 and 2004) at professional meetings. And I have nothing to do with KU in any capacity. But even I -- a bystander to all this mess -- find the above (Nepali) paragrpah
so silly,
so khattam,
so jhoor
that I can say that such charges effectively undercut all other accusations against Sharma, and instead unwittingly makes him a victim of some political revenge.
My two cents?
Don't get carried away in a typical Nepali paara ko emotional way. [Those who do harm to YOU in 2006 need not necessarily be also devilishily plotting against larger Nepali democracy since 1986! Maintain a sense of perspective here.]
Stick to the issues; look at the facts only; and try to bring an external commiitee to look at the mess in a fair manner. You say you are the wronged party; no one expects you to provide an impartial take on these issues. So re-store your own credibility by involving neutral parties as soon as you can.
Take the complaints to the KU governing board, and NOT to the newspapers at this point. The results of washing the dirty laundry in public have NEVER been favorable
to the plaintiffs in Nepal (in my limited observations!). Nepali newspapers print so many bad things about so many people all the time that nobody believes them for anything any more except read the stuff for juicy gossip for a day or two.
If the KU governing board says no to your request to look into the matter, then take your complaints to the court.
If all else fails, leave KU for somewhere else. There are many good colleges and universities around.
******
On a larger note, this KU story is the SAME as what pretty much happens in almost all Nepali NGOs and private companies and government bureaucracies where one or two
netas with unchecked power use the institutions as their personal office to dole out jobs to their favorites and squash opposition from others.
Around last year, it was Dinesh Prasain versus CVICT's Dr. Bhogendra Sharma .
This year, it's some KU Teachers versus Dr. Suresh Sharma.
The season has changed; the issues are the same!

And When you had to write in support of that extreme proponent of Madhesi nationalism, you have come up with this argument;

As far as I know, Paramendra has been raising the madheshi issue at least since 1996. That is for 11 long years. He is NOT someone who just popped up from somewhere recently. [Please check old issues of The Nepal Digest for his kurakani on Madhesi issues.] I have worked with quite a few activists in Nepal, and I have yet to meet a single Nepali activist who displays the sort of single-minded focus/energy that Paramendra consistently puts forth into issues he holds dear. That single-minded devotion and energy are something to be admired, at least, as far as I am concerned. Life's ultimate rewards, after all, go NOT to those who are academically brilliant and get along well with 'the establishment' but to those who display tenacity, persistence and determination to succeed against all odds. True, some or many of Paramendra's tactics can be off-putting (depending on what you find off-putting), but they are neither illegal nor immoral. In the Nepali universe, he is an outlier, and let's accept him as such. Personally, thanks to Paramendra, I have -- over the years -- quietly learnt a lot about madhesi issues that I otherwise would not have learnt. And I enjoy reading his blog postings from time to time. So what if he's "in you face" at times? Personally, seeing how well he writes, how well he argues and how obviously "smart" (cognitive smart, that is) he is, I can't help but think that if certain circumstances in his earlier life had gone differently, he would probably have ended up as the President of Oxford Union.
But, hey, life happens.
Meantime, a Sajha visitor and a Nepali, I am shocked at the appallingly continuing stupidity displayed by the so-called politicians to address the tarai issue. But more on that later.

Whatever you said in this thread has already exposed you. You have raised an issue related to someone's private life and got good bashing also. But nobody told you that you are pure "Bahunbaadi." As you are well aware of that extremist Madhesi’s grand design, which you also share, you tried to defend him thinking that people are not wathing you.

Let me begin exactly the same way you put forth your arguments that you have given regarding certain posting in www.changeinku.blogspot.com.

(a) Yeah off course, as a bystander to all this mess-I find your arguments in favour of extremist Madhesi,
so khattam,
so jhoor

(b) I can say that your support to that extremist Madhesi's rantings effectively undercut all other causes associated with Madhesi movement, and instead unwittingly makes this whole movement a handiwork of Bahunbaadi forces of both India and Nepal.

(c) My two cents to you Ashu; Don't get carried away in a typical Nepali paara ko emotional way. [Those whom you are working with in 2006 need not necessarily help with your social work in coming days also]. I am saying so because you have said that you are working with Madhesis and I feel that by supporting extremist Madhesi in Sajha you want to maintain your good image amongst your coworker madhesis. No body would lick the boot of such extremists except Bahunbaadis.

(d) Why don't you ask that extremist Madhesi to stick to the issues; look at the facts only; and try to bring Civil Society to look at the mess in a fair manner. That extremist says that he is the the wronged party; no one expects him to provide an impartial take on these issues. So he needs to re-store his own credibility by involving neutral anti-bahunbaadi parties as soon as possible instead of sending memorandum to Indian president.

(e) Why don't you ask that extremist Madhesi to take the complaints to the 8 parties Governing board, and NOT to the streets with the help of Goit and Jwala Singh at this point. The results of washing the dirty laundry in public have NEVER been favorable to the Madhesis in Nepal (in my limited observations!).

(f) Why don't you ask that extremist Madhesi "If the 8 party governing board says no to your request to look into the matter, then take your complaints to the International court. If all else fails, leave Nepalis citizenship for somewhere else. There are many good countries and nations around.
****** And off course, add these things;
On a larger note, this Madhesi story is the SAME as what pretty much happens in almost all Nepali political parties netas with desire to
weild unchecked power use the movements and protests as their personal machinery to blackmain deputy prime-ministerships.
Around last year, it was Maobadi versus 7 party
This year, it's some Madhises versus 8 party.
The season has changed; the issues are the same!

In addition to these issues what I like to tell you and the whole world is that both you and that extremist Madhesi is working in tandem. He will give war cry and you, using your right to speech, come to Sajha and defend the same. You will claim that freedom of expression entitles every blogger and e-mail sender to say what he wants. But, how can you use double standards? Why don't you ask this fellow not to be emotional like you asked the blogger of changeinKU. Is it because you know this extremist Madhesi working for 11 years and you do not know those faculties of KU working for more than 10 years?

Bahunbaadis always support icons of Bahunbaad. Sometimes they support Suresh Raj Sharma and sometimes they support Gyanendra. Whatever I said in changeinku blog has come out to be real truth. Suresh Raj has forced a dalit to commit suicide and weeklies like Nepali Times keep on publishing the success story of this silver haired man. I want to ask every Bahunbaadis of both India and Nepal, how long you want to play with Nepali sentiments? Yeah, we are divided. We want federalism and we want autonomy in every walk of life be it in KU or in Nepal. But, we believe in discourses, discussion and debates not in killing people. Madhesi extremists are killing people exactly the way Suresh Raj is also killing. Madhesi extremists are also holding people captive exactly the way Suresh Raj is holding academic values captive. So, Ashu use your freedom of expression not for protecting bloody murderers. Rather you must use it for saving innocent lives. I am saying so because I do that.

You are Suresh Bhakta Shrestha...
You are writing in different names.....
By the way how you got chance to study in IIT??
How you got chance to study in Aligarh University?
Are you agent of RAW so your Indian masters gave you chance to study in these universities??

Your thinkings are also disgusting like your appearance or SAKKAL. Or you are trying to be second Natwarlal.

In TU in science faculty there are more Terai originated and Newar teachers. About 70% of the teachers in Science faculty are from Terai and Kathmandu....there are bahuns, chhetris...also few from Rais, Gurungs etc...so...why TU is not developing.....?? You have to think that for this capable, dedicated people with good vision are required.

And KU, in level of Nepal, is quite grown and reputed organization, and you are blaming this university because you are not satisfied with a single person. Just compare this with Purbanchal and Paschimanchal university.

What the hell you want to prove about increasing hatre using Madhesh issue indicates that you want to spread more communal feeling. That shows that how mean you are...
Your child mentality is always seen in every of your posting or blogs, where you are bringing the issue of KU and Bahunbad in very irrelevant Madhesh issue. Every simple person can understand your mean motive by your stupid writing way.

If you have problem with VC Chalise there are legal ways to tackle with his wrong things if you are normal and genuine. Why are you crying for this after you got chance to study for 3-4 years?? Why not before?? Why you disturb and involve others in your quite disgusting and personal matter??

You are in Japan for further study, not for increasing hatre and communal feeling....think twice before you post such stupid things...and concentrate on your study....at least try to dedicate your brain (if you have a normal one)..so that you can be a renowned person and we could also be proud of you, as a best achiever and renowned Nepali.....

If everyone concentrates on his/her duty and ends to blame others then not only Nepal all parts of the world can be better and peaceful.

Suresh B. Shrestha...STOP IT.

Meet their demands today, then their population (which is already close to 50% of Nepal according to some) would increase to maybe 60 to 65 percent then they will want to claim 50% of Nepal due to their population. There is no ending to this.

Upendra Vadav wants separate Madeshi nation from Nepal.

He just bribed Nepali citizenship in 1995 and he became a Nepali citizen.

Now he has both citizenship. Indian paid him Rs 50,00,000 to make him Medeshi leader.

I agree with Nepal?, I am from Tarai, there is no discrimination between Pahadi and Madhesi.I have several madhesi friend and we never have any problem. once i came to KTM then only i realized the discrimination between Pahadi and Madeshi, and Newar and non Newar. The Newar people like suresh are the one who started caste discrimination in Nepal. Suresh use to write against KU as if he kicked out with over qualification. I think he might have got all those degree not because he is talent enough and deserve for that but because some biased newar might have selected him by kicking other deserving candidate out. I have seen those educated newar people in TU only with degree but without any knowledge. If you look at the all the science departments of TU most of the teacher are either Newar or Madhesi, and there is always discrimination and partialization towards those madhesi faculty by Newar. There is nothing to do with minor faculty from rest of other caste. So i would say all the Newar of KTM to grow up and think all of us either from Ktm or from Pahad or Madhes are Nepalese.
