Dear San (Sajha.com Network administrator),

First of all I would like to thank you for such a great site that has brought lot of joy upon me, and have brought closer to my fellow Nepalese, where we all share our happiness, sorrow ness, ideas, and help each other in need.

I have an Idea that I would like to propose to you people. I as you may already have realized started a thread called Sajha FM, where I share Nepali music of all kind.
No matter what we listen these days, as a Nepali sometime we miss the sound of Nepal.
Like living aboard we may eat in 5 stars fancy restaurants with a French chef and your own waiter and special meal, we sometime miss the taste of Gundruk, daal and bhaat. We would pay anything to have that and it tastes better then 5 stars meal.
I guess it is the same with music, I have seen people who listen trance and techno every day, and sometime they enjoy Nepali folk music a lot.

I suddenly just got this idea and woke up before my wakeup call, and now I am writing this.
I have uploaded Nepali songs in this free site where bandwidth had been a problem, and now I have uploaded the song somewhere where I am not really suppose to, (Just between you and me; people). But the storage will be a problem soon I know that. So how about if you people could provide me with a storage where I can upload songs and share it with the sajha guests in the thread Sajha FM or create an extra place for it.

I see you are doing a great job in this fund raising for poor Rikita and few months back for other things, and I am sure there will be lot more other charity programs involved through this site.
So my proposal to you guys is I and the other users upload the songs, and people’s request, and make it available for listening, but if people wish to download the songs then they could donate 50 cent or a dollar for the fund raising and that status bar would properly move a bit faster. This way they both get something for their money and would have made a difference in someone’s life.

What do you say??

Thanks for starting this amazing idea. People having to pay to download might not be kosher as far as copyright of songs go. Let me think about some ways to make it easier for you to upload your music. I will let you know directly.

In the mean time I have created a page SAJHAFM so that it's easier to access everything in one single page. I will be modifying the page as we go on...

Thankx a lot San, I really appreciate your help and as no doubt you can see lot of sajha users are into it and appreciate your efford. I Appreciate a lot that you have created a new page, really great work. It is nice that you are taking effort on creating it and improving the page and I think it should be a base page for the Sajha FM station.

Otherwise I have just create a design or an idea for the shortcut for sajha FM. I am not much of a designer but just a small idea or suggestion. I don’t know how you and the other user think of it.

I've placed a Sajha FM link under the left menu as suggested. It takes a long time to load all the players on the same page so when you go to the sajha FM page you will have to click on the link to play it online.

Are there any plans to start one for those who like Hindi and English numbers? If not, I think it is still a great idea to have a station for Nepali numbers only but may I suggest toning down the part where it says "No English songs please - We can hear that every day in the Radio. No Indian songs This is not Indian site, This Nepali Site. No videos, only sounds"

I think a Sajha FM is strong enough of an idea to flourish without the exclusive tone and tenor that the above statement reflects, in my humble opinion.

Just a suggestion - no offense intented.

PS - How does one contribute numbers to the station or are there only pre-selected songs?

Thank you very much for your suggestion. That thought had occurred to me as well, but to be realistic I already am beginning to worry for storage limits and so for my small FM.
You people are welcome to work together and create another thread for “Bedesi sajha FM” and upload foreign songs.
But please let us just make Sajha FM national FM, with only national songs (All types of Nepali Songs and sounds).
I can help you people find almost all kind of hindi and English music, but I cannot upload them, you people will have to help each other with that. If you have problems finding any songs then I can find that for you and send it through mail or other source.

But first Talk to San as for English songs it could create a problem with copyrights and stuff. If you make it available for download, and the western copyright law is bit more strict and active I guess.

Gurudev - Thanks for the info. Yes, we do need to tread carefully with copyright issues so there is some legwork to be done before the idea can take off. Thanks for offering your help with finding/figuring things out - it is much appreciated.

Good luck with your initiative and once again a fine piece of work you got going there.

San dai - Please advise what Sajha's policy is on posts like these . Such comments distract from the issue at hand and result in commentary that really does not benefit anyone.
