Can anyone help me find a trustworthy consulting company in the midwest, like chicago or Kansas City or Louisville or something. I am a recent graduate with plenty of time left on OPT and need a H1 sponsoring company before the filing starts in April.
And I've heard of some scam stories too so thats why I'm here to get some help from my own nepali dajubhai didibahinis in the hope that I don't end up in the hands of some scam artists. H1 chahiyo bhanyaa hetteri khaireko deshma sarai paapad belnu parne.
Please post here or email any suggestions to kaamde@yahoo.com. I really appreciate the help.

I looked at sulekha.com as well as eknazar.com, some are too far away, some look fishy, some want 15 month contract, some sound like they have no idea whats coming out of their mouth. Basically I'm looking for something that I don't have to regret later.
Anyway, keep it coming guys. Let me know if you know about any good consulting company, time is running out for me dude, gotta get this thing done quick.

I just find it amazing that someone posts to a forum, looks for a sponporship and yells out if no one is responding. Finding a job ain't that easy bro. You act like everyone here is desperate to find you a job meeting all your requirements.

I ain't from the Mid-West so my help will not be of any value to you.

Goodluck.

Hey Kaamde,
why you need it in midwest. If you already graduated than you can go anywhere..if you add more criteria like I need in midwest than your probablity of getting H1B will be less. So, be open and be ready to go anywhere. It is very hard to get H1B its not a piece of cake. So, look for job any where

"H1 chahiyo bhanyaa hetteri khaireko deshma sarai paapad belnu parne."

We are lucky enough in US that we get CPT, OPT and opportunity to look for Job. If you were in European Countries, you would have to leave the country after your study. I think- for a International Student- There are multiple opportunity to search job, work and receive green card. Regarding 'Papad Belne' you should remember that you are in 'Other's Country'.

Regarding "help and Cry"- I guess its not bad to ask for help (Some time I too do so as I can find the start point of research more easily than strat from scratch). But one should not rely on others and do not try on oneself. At least make basic study. It s not bad to help each other.

Rgarding H1B, unless you have limitations, you should try to oen your job search boundaries all over the US. Once you work for couple of years and gain both experience, you should be bale to get job anywhere you want. Good Luck.

Kaamde,

I did not mean to lash out on you but I got to be honest with you, I did not like the tone you represented yourself with. You job search sounds like a joke. People are here to help and most of them do refer you to agencies or friends but your attitude has to be right.

Fug me or Fug you don't matter in this "paapad belne" country, what matters is your attitude , hard work and intelligence.

Anyways, if you search the Sajha archives you might find tons of information on H1B sponsorship.

Goodluck, pal!

Thanks for the input Matribhumi bro . But I gotta be honest too, if anybody took that line "H1 chahiyo bhanyaa hetteri khaireko deshma sarai paapad belnu parne" in anyway other than just a form of humor, then seriously that person needs to go see some therapist because they don't have any sense of humor. Regarding hardwork and intelligence, its not a function of what a person says but what he does.
Peace out!

Dear Kaamde:
I have a feeling you won't like what I have to say, but I will say it anyway in the hope that you will give it a thought.

You should be looking for a job, not for H1B. That's somewhat rhetorical, but hear me out here.

Alright, you want a company that will later sponsor you for H1B--I understand that-- but still your comments come across as that from a very disinterested job seeker...with the attitude, I want H1B, but oops I forgot to mention what is it that I can do for any company.

What skills, degree do you have? What field?

You first need to assess your selling points. Your degree, experience, skills, expertise, interests. Even if you are a recent graduate, you might have done part time jobs, internships, or might have deeper knowledge (even if book-knowledge) of certain aspects of your field. Then get a feel for the market. What skills are they asking for? Which companies do H1B? Where are the jobs?

If you are posting in Sajha, you should at least do the due diligence and give people enough information to enable them to help you. Folks here could tell you, for example, about specific companies that are currenlty hiring in your area of expertise.

Then tailor your job hunt, resume, cover letter, even postings to places like sajha.

Sorry brother, I know too many people in your situation and care about their struggles. That's why I took the time to write this. The economy is fairly good, so if you look for work with the right attitude, you will get it, get H1B...and onwards. You know the route.

Good luck.

Kaamde,

I hope you realize what you just said. If you take your statement as a sense of humor then I completely understand and will laugh along with you but I don't think that this subject is a matter of joke to you, or is it?

Anyways, rabi has put his thoughts together and I agree with him. You should post here what you are looking for. I for one have no clue where you're headed. What is your background? Bio, IT, Business? By your post, all we know is you want a H1B, nothing else. What is your qualification.. where are you located?

-M
