i am about to purchase a salvaged car with good engine and transmission(as inspected by toyota) but with ac air condenser leak, it was hit in the front so the bumper and all is kinda fixed and it has got no air bags
its a 2000 solara and it runs very smooth with 90000 miles on it
they are asking $6000 for it

what i wanted to actually ask is the experience that you guys had had with salvaged and reconditioned if ever you purchased one

thnx saha

That is a heck load of money if you were to ask me! The description of the car doesn't fit in with the price of the car! Try looking for a better car! Ever thought about financing a car? It will all depend upon your job and credit score of course!

as long as a mech. gives a green light ... salvaged not a prob. but if u'r thinkin about resaling... salvaged is not the way to go... unless ofcourse u find a good customer...

OK here are some adbice for you...
1. try to buy a car with clean title..Salvage title should be your last option
2. $6000 is too much fot that title car.Pay no more than $4000.00 tax included.
3. Take that car to some good mechanics and make sure that everything is right like motor, transmiccion and all....dont worry abt small things...but of coarse a/c is important if u live in texas here..

well i checked with the toyota today and they said the transmissiion and engine is normal but they told me the obvious ...ac compressor leaks....and as i said they told me the bumper(front part) is weak and dangerous in case of accidents

but test driving it drives like a 45000 mile SOLARA (its not sonata ..thopa) very smooth no diiference in acceleration brakes and all but anyway i know it does not have any resale value like any other salvaged car..i just wanted it to last for abt 2 years ..i am not expecting to sell it at all

vatguy yes it is v6

anybody experience with salvaged cars please share
