Dear ALSON Nepal, prepare for everything atleast a week ahead as you may not know when a indefinite strike starts. Live some where around Airport so that you don't have to walk to airport on the day of your flights. Don't put any expensive belongings in your luggage other than your hand carry so you can cut your lossess if you lose your baggage in transits. Be prepare for all those illogical street agitations and funny slogans.
Have fun.

Take a vaccine against typhoid before leaving US. It is just a pill and most of the insurance covers it.

Depends on after how long you are going home?

The dust really bothers me when I go home... no no American bhai khako hoina kya .. tara malai Nepal ma phor maile ko gandha pani ramro lagyo.. kinaki I was missing it. hahahaha but dust.... ufffff.. and thus I get sick the first week I'm in Nepal everytime. Otherwise... no place is better than home......

I normally reach home on Friday late night and go to Pashupati Temple the next morning. New Road has changed. The shops near the Photo Concern is all gone.. :( My favorite Chappan Bhog has moved god knows where.. Lots of new shops.. Old tarkari bazaar in Khicha Pokhari is like a small mall from where I buy DVDs in cheap price to bring to US... and there is new China Market near Khicha Pokhari.. Khicha Pokhari is full of shops these days..

Have an extra plate of Bakery ko momo, Airport ko Sekuwa and New Dish ko chicken chilly for me.. ..:) ooops dunno if you eat non-veg..

and watch a Nepali movie in theater :) hmm last movie I watched in theater was I think Kusume Rumal

I enjoyed Thamel more after coming to US. First thing I look for to bring back to US is books on Nepal with lots of pictures. When I had my last trip home, my two suitcase had nothing but nepali sirak and dasna.. and I'm enjoying them in my cozy apartment in USA.

and above all.. "BE SAFE"

Take water cuz there is no water.
Make sure take lot of batteries or some kind device that will work with out electricity
Make sure to take personal garbage recycler cuz there is mount Everest of garbage laying around every street corner.
Make sure you take lot of money.. cuz you will have to pay double fees and taxes one to Nepal government and another one to Maoist.
Do not learn any nepali cuz you can get away with lot of things…
And don’t talk to nepali galas they all want to come to America…..
And be prepare to take lot of entertainment for your self cuz you will be facing lot of Nepal banda ( Nepal Shutdown ).
If you see people are being very friendly and nice to you that’s the sign of people wanting to come to America with you and need your help.
And make sure to take mask its really dusty………

E-ticket is fine but make sure ( make damn sure) that you re-confirm your ticket 3 days before you leave nepal. Go to the Airline office & do it.

sometimes i wonder, have you forget our nepal in just few years of our stay in foreign land? come on people, Nepal is our country and we lived our life there before coming to foreign land. most of our family members still live there. why dont we ask them about how things has changed in nepal? we all know how was nepal and i know things have been changing but it can not be totally new. we might feel different but we will adjust in just few days. remember, we came to usa/australia without knowing much about life and people and still maanage to survive. you will be more than fine in your home back home. dont worry. have a safe journey.

Alson Nepal, I will take with me a nice flush light with me. Half of the time there is no power in Nepal so it will come very handy.

if you can't take the hardship or just pretending that you have become americanized, you better don't go. "how to deal with guys or with People and what else i got to be careful"
you should be ashamed calling yourself a nepali
