My fren who is here in USA. Sad to say that he is out of status. He wants to call his wife and son to USA. If his wife try for F1 visa, what is the probability of getting visa? If she would not mentioned that her husband is in USA.
or Is there any way that my fren's wife can get visa? I would appreciate your suggestions.

The situation is extremely complicated. It will all depend upon what kind of financial situation she is in. Don't get me wrong but if the guy were financially stable then I don't see the reason why he'd have stayed here illegally ( as you said that he's out of status ). Thus, I'll have to conclude that the chances are pretty slim.If he didn't have a son too then things would've been different but being bluntly truthful, I don't see any ways that the embassy will issue visa to both his spouse and the son.

There is 100% chance of getting F1 visa if she is qualified. Consular doesn't care about family (either they are murdere/terroist/etc/etc until unless he/she is Internationally known) background and she doesn't need to provide all the family documents to consular. Only things here matter is how qualified is she (how strong is her education background, what is her field of study, what is her TOEFL/ACT/SAT/GRE/GMAT score etc), what is her background (is she govt employee, is she working at some reputed organization etc). Consular very rarely ask about hers husband/parents (what they do, where are they, what is there income etc etc). If they ask, she doesn't need to disclose (but if she gets visa and arrive to US, then at Int Office, she need to give exact info). Her father or father in law could write sponser letter.

Last time I was in KTM applying for a visa renewal, they asked me to give all info about the whole family on paper. DAD, MOM, SIS, BRO anyone that lives in the house, with verifiable contact nos. I don’t know how you can avoid not mentioning anything anymore, but she can get here if they (counselors) didn’t notice a whole lot. May be telling them that her husband is in Nepal or something would help.

when i applied for visa, i just submitted one relation verification (nata praman) paper (with name, picture of all family member at ward office letter pad with ward adakcha signature). i didn't mention any thing what and where about my family and got visa easily. it all depends on mood of consuler. how many papers is he/she going to see in 5-10 min??
