Maoist owned and operated KOL reported that Prachanda is sorry; however, Goddy (DEV) Gurung in nepalnews says that they had no hand in it. Do they even care what theie partner just said? I hear that all hotels in Nepal are being forced to lodge and deed the Maoist pigs for free. It’s about time that we butcher them all. They are fat enough now to be executed along with leaders of 7 parties. This is the only way we can get the fresh blood a chance.

While we are at execution follow Micaville, who says do all the bad things in one shot so that they all look as one incident. So, Paras do your country a favor and take them all out. Be the Prince you always wanted to be for a change. You have to work on making people forget Dependra. What’s gone is gone. Ask the USSR, China and other commie trained faculties working in Nepalese universities to either resign or execute them with the other commies and seven party politicians.

I know there are some real PhD’s trained in US, UK and Aussie land, Even India, (except those graduating from Bihar board) to take over. We need constitutional monarchy back.

Jai Nepal

Prachanda expresses sorrow over attack on hotelier, promises to punish guilty

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, March 19 - Maoist Chairman Prachanda said Monday that his party would take action against those responsible for Sunday's attack on a business entrepreneur at Durbar Marg in the capital.
Talking to Kantipur Television over the phone, Prachanda, who is currently in Dhangadi, said that his party expresses "sorrow" over the incident and would carry out an investigation.

"We express our sorrow over the incident because this incident has happened at a time when the nation is moving ahead on the process of forming a new interim government," said Prachanda.

On Sunday, Maoist cadres had forcefully seized Harilal Shrestha, the owner of Hotel Woodlands at Durbar Marg, Kathmandu and beaten him up severely when Shrestha refused to pay Rs 10 million.

Prachanda informed that he had already directed other members of his party to carry out the investigation into the incident.

"I have urged the other members of our party in the capital to immediately take action against those who are responsible for the incident, as this incident is against the party's policy," he said.

He also cautioned his party cadres not to repeat such incidents against the business community in the future.

"It's not true that all of our cadres are engaged in intimidation and abduction. Ninety nine percent of our cadres are involved in the peace process. However, we have been taking action against some individuals (Maoist cadres) who are responsible for some incidents," he said, adding, "For this particular incident, we have taken it seriously."

The business community Sunday declared an indefinite closure of all industries, factories, import-export, education institutions, transport, and business protesting against the Maoist attacks on entrepreneurs.

The community said it was forced to call the strike after the government "did not pay enough attention to the incident."

Maoists deny hand in manhandling of businessman

The Maoists have claimed that the manhandling of a businessman in Kathmandu last night has nothing to do with their party.

Maoist leader Dev Gurung (File Photo)
Talking to Nepalnews, Maoist leader Dev Gurung said his party had no policy to abduct or take action against anybody and claimed that the attack on Hari Shrestha, owner of Hotel Woodland at Durbar Marg, on Sunday night could be the result of dispute between the employers and the workers.

He, however, said the party would investigate into the incident and initiate action if any party cadre was found involved. He said the party was ready to help solve the problem through dialogue.

Gurung, who is the deputy leader of the Maoists in the parliament, said as his party had not yet joined the government it had nothing much to do to end the shutdown strike called by the businessmen in protest against 'Maoist intimidation'.

Saying that the business community was only targeting the Maoist party, he said the strike of the businessmen smacked of "involvement of reactionaries".

Meanwhile, the Maoist-affiliated All Nepal Hotel and Restaurant Workers Union has also denied involvement in the attack on the owner of Hotel Woodland. A press release issued by the Union today stated that the incident was all about a dispute between former workers who were suspended from jobs and the hotel management.

A group of 'Maoist cadres' had abducted Shrestha from the hotel and severely beat him up. Shrestha has said the Maoists tortured him as he refused to pay Rs 2 million donation to them. nepalnews.com mk/pb Mar 19 07
