After reading the news on two siblings on kantipuronline today (http://www.kantipuronline.com/kolnews.php?&nid=105504), I felt like we can help them. Our small effort may contribute saving someone else's life, so lets be generous enough and contribute generate some fund which will be handed over to the family. Please encourage your coworkers and frens too to help for the same. I have requested kantipur publications to arrange some means to collect fund, lets see what they reply. Those residing in US, pls collect fund from nepalese communities, if possible.

7-year-old Bhawana, brother await helping hands

By Sanjeeb Phunyal

KATHMANDU, April 3 - Seven-year-old Bhawana Basnet and her 11-year-old brother Bhupi are going through hard times these days, with their mother visiting places for generous hands for the treatment of both the children.
Nature is unpredictable and unfortunately, these kids suffer from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, which requires bone marrow transplantation and can not be treated in Nepal.

The doctors at Bir Hospital have referred the siblings to a hospital in Mumbai, India, for the transplant, which costs around seven hundred thousand rupees for each.

"I might have to take them hospital anytime to infill them with blood if they vomit blood or anything happens to them," says, Lila Basnet, a single parent. "Doctors have told me to go to India for treatment as soon as possible, but I do not have the means to do so," adds Lila, who is a district health officer.

She has not been able to collect the money needed for the treatment of the children. "Mummy, please get me treated any how; I could pay back after I grow up," Lila quotes her son Bhupi as saying, with tears rolling down her misty eyes.

Is there a paypal account or something we can send the money to? Preferably belonging to reliable organizations like Kantipur?

I imagined they would have less corruption than some organizations that might be looking for a part of the donations! But I don't really know!
