I checked out the immigration visa bulletin for this month, and the DATES HAVE JUMPED.

Under EB3 category, I know that the dates were Aug 01, 2003 for EB3, just a month ago, but now it has bumped to June 1, 2005.

There's an article on murthy as well about it.

That's almost 2 years ahead. I know I had heard rumors about shifting from the old system to the new system or something like that.

Do you guys know what the reason for this is??

The USCIS want to clear their current pipeline ASAP so that they can process visas to millions of illegal immigrants with upcoming immigration reform.  (I suppose) This is good news to those applicants who have already secured their labor certificates through PERM. The way that the visa bulletin was moving before, it seemed like it would take at least 3 years to make it to 2005. But if the date continues to move faster, that day is not too far where one can have a GC in less than a year even for EB3.

That's the question I wanted to find an answer to. Is it going to jump again? Are they really clearing their queue up or what's going on??

looks like its going to jump again. it is said that it will go forward till September and after that it will go back again. murthy.com says this is only temporary thing because they have lots of unused visa left and they want to finish them off this year. but if u get lucky and your number becomes current during this process, you should be able to apply for AOS. I am still looking for some more answers about this.
