Kantipur Report
DOLAKHA, May 22 - As per the directive from the Office of the Prime Minister, the local administration in Dolakha district has conducted a Kshyama (forgiveness) Puja at the Bhimeshwor temple following the sweat in the left side of Bhimeshwor god which is believed to be a jinx in the Nepali tradition.
Chief District Officer, Uddav Bahadur Thapa said the sweat-smeared cotton was traditionally taken to the king as a head of state in the past. Following the tradition, the cotton was this time taken to the office of the Prime Minister, who has been handed the responsibility of the head of the state; and the apology puja has been carried out here in the temple. Two goats were sacrificed while performing the puja.
Moreover, the CDO Thapa said it is the first time in the Nepali history that the sweat-smeared cotton is sent to the office of the Prime Minister, and the prasad (offerings to the god) of the puja will also be sent to the Prime Minister's office.
