Lets not advocate one cause vs. other. Both are important and contributors will decide where to put their contribution. I hope we all help both.

Thanks

As far as I know, the funerals are expensive and may cost from 5000 and up.

I commend the people for the work they are doing.

May her soul rest in peace.

I think in both places and cases, both are important.
Are Nepalese so selfish for their own country men, women, and children that they have to think twice and thrice and decide on who they would like to contribute?
Common for God Sake, its 5, 10 or 20 dollars.
You are earning here and you are living.
I do not understand why guys are fighting for 5, 10 dollars and rather than doing something (in this case donating), they like to spent time on commenting on what they think.

Both are important as well and both are someone’s sisters, brothers, children, uncle, and aunt and so on.
No matter what, the thing matter is both are from Nepal.
And in these harsh times, we all should help each other.
Do not just stay there in front of your computer and throws words and move topic around.

Help each other.
“Help and Contribute.”

may her soul rest in peace, and i am very sorry for the lose her family had to bear. However, i still dont get the point why we raising the fund for her family?? If i am not mistaken the funeral is already been taken care of, instead of raising fund for her family, i think it wud have been great, if we cud raise money to save someone else's life.

I saw her pics in her hi5. She was a young and pretty girl. Just pray that her family gets enough strength to bear the loss.

preciouszem: you are right, funeral has been taken care of but her sister still has to pay off for the process. Lets not confuse ourselves here, fund is not for the family. As you can imagine Kalpana ko sister hasn't work. There isn't much money and she (sister) just got here last semester and 17 yrs old. I don't know how she is going to get through if we don't help.

Again, I can't belive pppl are advocating one cause vs other here. We are know both are important. If someone doesn't want to chip in, please keep it to your self.

Thanks

Thats exactly wat my point is. It totally justifies the proverb "nepali ko buddii pachi aucha re ke" when she was alive no one cud help, now when she is gone..wats anyone gonna do with the donation... If u really wanna do sth...try to help and save someone who is alive....there;s a thread here...bout Nirmala girl in alabama accident, she prolly needs help...why dont all u daani ppl help her...she is our fellow nepali too.. lets not just show off and lets work on sth...

Dharma, may be you didn't read previous post. Fund raised is not for Kalpana ko Mother and Father. It's to cover Kalpana ko Funeral expenses.

preciouszem: do you have something against kalpana? Why you are dead against raising fund for her funeral expenses. Believe me it costs a lot and i've already mention to you about her little sisters situation. You are more than welcome to express your opinion but please be sensitive towards Kalpana. You know why we are working hard for this cause preciouszem.
Just to let you know no one knew about Kalpana ko situation so there was no point of helping her out while she was alive. All of it happened suddenly. We are sad that we couldn't help her out while she was alive.
If you don't want to help fine and I see your point but i hope you see our point as well. We're trying hard to help Kalpana ko Little sister (as i have mentioned before, she is 17 and needs our help).

Finally I believe all these causes are important and i hope everyone helps, including you preciouszem. I have surely contributred to troy university cause and i know a lot that have done so.

Thanks

It bothers me to read people favoring one fund raising to another, both of which are good causes on their own.

If you don't support one cause then fine you can go and support the other but there is no need to speak negatively about another cause that other people believe in. You must be a slave of that autocratic mentality that you try to force your views onto others here.

About Nirmala who got into an accident in Alabama and the fund being raised in staticnepal http://staticnepal.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=166
, I have read another thread in sajha which says that the fund raised through staticnepal is not going to Nirmala and instead it is going to the University. Why is StaticNepal doing a fundraiser for the University calling it a fundraiser for Nirmala? People are donating believing that the money will go to Nirmala directly - how can the fund raisers deceive the donors like that.
