How easy is it to get a job in Nepal with a PhD in public health? I am interested in universities. Which part of Kathmadu valley is better to live (water, electricity, hospitals etc.)? What to avoid and what to include in order to survive? Any healthy suggestions?

Latoboy and parbatya

I am not from Ktm, never lived in Ktm, and never had to live in Ktm. I am not Dr.Manmohan Singh. Let's not generalize Nepal and Nepalese. The only thing I needed is the specific info on communities in Ktm.

BMW is not the reason, and it should not be. I do not know what does it mean by ' well deserved' job. I am looking for something what a PhD can get especially in academic world. I am interested in teaching in a university. I want somebody to educate me about the valley and its communities- social, political, economical etc. aspects of each society.

Mmohan, You might be better off getting in touch with someone who has actually been back to Nepal and either taught or worked in an academic setting. I think Shaubhagya Shah went back from the U.S. and taught in TU for a while. I know another person -- Dr. Pramod Aryal -- who recently went back to Nepal and works in some hospital. I will be glad to locate Dr. Aryal's contact info if you shoot me an email through this website. --M.P.
