Hi,
I got my H1-B approved for this year. But when I applied for H1-B this April I did not have the CPT with me ( I do now) so when I got the H1-B approval notice I had Kathmandu, Nepal written on Class Consulate or POE. This means that I need to go to Nepal and get H1-B visa. But I really don't want to go to Nepal. Is there a way to tell USCIS that I've got CPT now till Oct 1 and that I want to change the Visa type to H1-B from Oct 1st without going to Nepal. There should be some kind of application forms available. If anybody knows about please do tell, your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Jyapu

As far as I know you have to go to US consulate office. Even if it says Kathmandu you can go to Canada or, Maxico (I am not 100% sure but positive). You can't stay in US without having valid I-94 otherwise you will be out of status. In your case USCIS did not issued new I-94 so you MUST go to consulate office.

My h1b still showing pending status in uscis website. I am just worried now cause i could see a lot of people h1b already approved. I just want to know if there are still some one who are waiting to get it approved and status is now pending, or is it only me?

Pakandi, it depends which center is processing your USCIS. If you really want fast do premium processing it costs $1000 and you will receive your H1 within 2 weeks.

Jyapucha, I don't think there is a way to do that.

I have applied through premium process and it still says pending and waiting for more evidence. As far as I know there are 2 kinds of query USCIS does. one to Employee and next to Employer. You need to find wat kind of query your sponsered company received and if it is to your company find what documents they are asking for and also find what is the deadline to submit all the docs and you can guess how soon you can get your H1 aproved. There is no need to send another 1K at this time. Please keep me update post in this thread coz I also need some info and I will do the same.
Good luck
