Every time i watch the recorded copy of grand finale of II, I try to savor every moment. You know when you achieve something so big in life.. and that would come as a big surprise to you and then run out of words.. you speak things that you were not supposed to.. and we ignore those silly mistakes putting ourself in others shoes.
Contrary to that.. Prashant did everything right and gave no room for anyone to pin point the finger. I would say he moved forward several steps beyond my imaginations and he acted so intelligently and did so many great things in such a short period of time on stage when most of us would go blind with euphoria.
After having opportunity to sing a song in Nepali language, he chose to sing a song about Gorkhali out of millions of Nepali songs. God, that was such a great moment to recall gorkhali and i got goose all our my body after hearing the song. My adrenaline was pumping up. II, Grand Finale, when millions of people all around the world were watching, he introduced gorkhali to the world. No doubt, such a great unity among Nepali population was never seen before. I hope Udit Narayan learn something from Prashant.
I was even ready to accept the defeat if that was in our fate after listening to his Gorkhali song. Because, I was already in euphoria for the reason he introduced himself and the whole gorkhali community to the world. That was more important to me than the title.
After Prashant was declared winner, he hugged his fellow contestant. When John was handing him the Prize he asked Amit to come and join because he was so humble and down to earth fellow that he never wanted Amit to feel bad about losing the competition as we know that Amit was also a good singer. Amit was hesitant to come to the front but John also asked him to come and join. Finally, Amit also joins Prashant that shows the world how much respect Prashant has for his competitor.
Prashant's sister put Nepali cap on Prashant's head while he was still hugging Amit. I was already in cloud number 9 after his victory. And seeing him wearing Nepali cap on his head, no nepali would ever felt so much proud because of our hero Prashant. I can still remember every moment and it brings the same euphoria every time i think of it. Prashant presented himself as a Nepali to the world. I am sure it can change people's perception about Nepali after seeing Prashant for several months on TV.
Prashant's mom gave khaata not only to him but to everybody on the stage. As a Nepali, we value our culture and it was a grand opportunity for Prashant to make Nepali feel proud about our culture and they did it so well.
The very first speech he thanked everybody in an order that anybody who was involved in this victorious journey would feel included. He thanked nepali from Sikkim to Nepal and also all over the world who were supporting him. His this one sentence tied all the Nepali around the world in one garland. Today, i feel so proud to experience our unity. See we can turn things around if we try. I hope we as a nepali would never run out unity in future too when we needed it badly.
Mini asked Prashant to go to the front side of the stage with Judges. Prashant held Amit's hand and walked to the front part of the stage along with the judges. Anu Malik was holding his left hand up while Amit-Prashant's hands were up on the other side. Prashant never let Amit feel left alone at the corner. He maintained his sanity and showed the world how nice a person he is.
Prashant is a true gorkhali. He proved that life is not victory but battle. Keep ever brave and happy heart. He was able to overcome every hurdle one could possibly imagine. He kept his calmness and fought continuously. Finally he was crowned with the title. More than the title, he was able to unite the nepali community all around the world and made us proud about being nepali.
