Hi guys,
I got into H1B status from October 1st 2007. If I wan't to transfer my H1 to another company,
is there any specific time I have to wait before filing the papers. Some forums say its 2 pay
checks, some say its 60 days old paycheck. It'd be great help to me if some one who has done
it before of in process of doing now could give the exact time frame.
Thanks
Trader

Why are you giving false information if you don't have knowledge of it.

New Trader, you can transfer your H1B after you get the first paycheck from your current employer. There is no rule that says you have to transfer WITHIN 30 days.

Thanks Tori,
I know there is no 30 days limit. My confusion is with the number of paychecks.
Some say its 2 paychecks, some say its 60 days old paycheck. you said its 1 paycheck.
I am just getting confused and confused. I was only trying to save 1000-1500 attorney fee,
because apart from this rule, everything else is very easy and simple.
Any more insights?

New Trader, as far as I know, one paycheck is enough. It can be weekly, biweekly or monthly paycheck. It depends on how often your employer pays. But still it will be wise to consult an immigration attorney. There are a lots of attorneys who will advise you in this matter for free.
