Ok, I was just listening to the old national anthem, just the music, and I couldn't help but feel sad that it has been replaced. It is such a brilliant piece of composition. I wish they had just changed the words. I can imagine this being played at like a sports event... we've gotten used to this and it brings out our patriotism. The new anthem does not really invoke much feelings out of me.. kinda sad. I wish they'd bring the old anthem back with new words or sth!! I miss it!

I tried posting a music player for the anthem, but it didn't work out so well. So here's the link if you want to hear the anthem: http://boomp3.com/m/77d21b4cb94a

Its just a sick mentality nothing else...................

There are millions of things we need to change in Nepal not National Anthem, or Everything that has Royal....We all need to change is the so called Democratic Leaders, Radicaal Communist Leaders, Sicko Royalist, Student Unions, Labor Unions.................list goes on. We need to change education system, legal system, health practice, social values...................and so onWe need to change the corrupt  mentality, bheda buddhi, and everything.......................

This is what all Nepali says all the time but if you want to change something first change yourself

First I need to change myself, you need to change yourself then they need to change.................

See how beautiful our country would be...............

Love all human beings

Amit

Its a kind of human nature. They are resistant to changes. It happens bros. Not only to you, but to most of us! It is the Law of Inertia, the very basis of Newton's first law of motion.

If you go to a new office or workplace, you always remember the old one/s. After you are gradually familiarized, then you will think that u  have made the right decision. It takes time. Don't expect anything overnight. There are millions of options.

History is to read, not to revive/repeat. People say, history repeats; but I don't believe it. Events cannot make a circle, but a spiral at the most, sothat no two points (of past and present or future) meet together.

I get what you both are saying. amitraja, you went off on a tangent though, but a nice message to everyone nevertheless. copicat, you are absolutely correct, but don't you think there are always exceptions? We are resistant to changes, but changes aren't always for the better. I know we might eventually warm up to the new national anthem (a point which I didn't bring across in my first post), but do you honestly believe that the new anthem can reach the same height of popularity, and that it can instill itself as deep down in Nepali hearts? I guess what I am trying to say is, 'sriman gambhir' was much better as a national anthem than the new one. I used to think it would rank way up there were it to compete with other national anthems of other country based on the beautiful grand-sounding composition. Don't you think we lost a beautiful piece of something dear to us when they replaced the national anthem? (Forget the lyrics here, let's assume they are the same in all!)

Agreed, fully agreed.

The music was wonderful. It is a masterpiece. We haven't lost that at all. It is still there in the library. We have to protect it.

However, in the changed context, the wordings especially could not represent the people's spirit. That's is the only thing.
