Actually there are two programs this Dashain in Chicago. One is organized by erstwhile Chicagoland Nepali Pariwar in Radheshyam Temple as mentioned by "Americano". Another is organized by Chicagoland Nepali Friendship Society (CNFS). The details for that are as follows. Luckily the two programs do not coincide..the Radheshyam temple program ends at 2 PM while the CNFS program does not start till 5 PM. So, if you are really enthusiastic you can have a double Dashain celebration!

Hey guys, do you know any of the "Temples" in the vicinity of Chicago, where we can reach by either CTA Bus, Local Train, Metra or Pace Bus Service? As I searched, it is not possible to reach the Radheshyam Temple at Blomingdale by public transportation. Similarly, other one is in Lement, which is also too far. Is there any temples in and around Devon? BTW, I live near UIC. **********Wish you a very happy Vijaya Dashami & Tihar! **********

Ofcourse house party with some frends around! That gives more peace and enjoyment than those so called organized parties! This dashain, am planning to go to one of the temples in the morning. Tomorrow going to "Fright Fest" @ Six flags-Great America, as I got a good deal oncampus. Certainly missing family in this season! How about u guys!
