BCCI (India) threatened to pull out from the tour day before and what was the outcome of that ???  That bowler Harbhajan didn’t say monkey....ICC judge found him offensive but not racially verbal.

Cleary India is bullying the ICC, and given the chance India always aggresses against the weak things it is associated with..it blackmails all...be it cricket or the neighbors.....ye indian nangaa naach band karoo....we are so bloody tired of it

Indian’s aggression wont cease until and unless their economy crumbles....let the Saudi oil field dry out.....let the oil hit $150+ a barrel...when will that happen????

Excuse me there....the disapproval is against aggression.

You will not hate one billion Indians even if some of them have harmed you. But how will you talk about or address those who have harmed...you will call them Indians....wont you??  So the question of hatred against ordinary indian shall not arise here.

As far as language is concerned, sometimes you would like to convey the message with the right nod. Its not i have lust for their tongue nor i've any prejudice against them or their language.

By the way, economy of Nepal is not dependent on india as it largely depends on remittance from Malaysia, Gulf countries, Korea, Japan, Europe and Americas. To give a hint on Nepal-India economic scene, there is huge trade deficit in favor of india....if im not wrong, it is nearly $ 1 billion. Mind you, Nepal is not gaining out of the economic boom there in india and in fact Nepal would have been much prosperous, happier and peaceful if it was far and away from india.

what do you mean: "came out clean"? well, he was exonerated because of the lack of evidence but has still been pleaded guilty in charge of a level 2.7 offense  for the 'monkey' remark.

i am not a fan of harbhajan or indian cricket team and i know this may raise few eyebrows here, but although i myself normally stand strongly against any form of racial slurs/remarks, somewhere in my mind i do feel that he had made that particular remark on a lighter note, if not as in a friendly jive, than intending to throw racial tantrums on andrew while his sheer ignorance on the weight of the issue that he was agitating in oblivion caught him off guard in the end. he better be cautious from next time on which i am sure he will be.

no need to drag the issue mercilessly beyond the boundary.

"what happens in the middle, REMAINS in the middle" --- Ricky Ponting.

Peace out.

Kirshnakale ji. Seeing  the heated debate between harbhajan and symonds in the field and  somersaults of harbhajan like a chimp after taking the wicket of ricky ponting clearly says whatever he said clearly meant it.   Harbhajan is the only player in the team who is  most likely to commit this sin. Players like Dravid , sachin, kumble  are very decent but as far as harbhajan is concerned i am sure he must have said something to upset australian.

something was cooking behind the curtain and it was almost certain that his charge would have been dropped. Everything seemed so scripted.

Offspinner's three-Test ban lifted

Australia incensed by Harbhajan reprieve

Harbhajan Singh's exoneration for his alleged "monkey" comment towards Andrew Symonds has been hailed as a victory for justice in India, but the decision has incensed Australia's cricketers, who believe their board has caved in to overwhelming pressure from the game's financial superpower.

In a front-page article in Wednesday's Sydney Morning Herald, an unnamed Australian cricketer has hit out at the decision, which was only reached after Cricket Australia persuaded their five players at the hearing to downgrade their charge against Harbhajan from racism to abusive language. Instead of being banned for three Tests as per the original verdict, he was fined 50% of his match fee.

"The thing that pisses us off is that it shows how much power India has," the anonymous contracted player told the paper. "The Aussie guys aren't going to make it [the accusation] up. The players are frustrated because this shows how much influence India has, because of the wealth they generate. Money talks."

In what the paper described as a "brazen act of provocation", the Indian board chartered a plane to whisk their one-day squad from Melbourne - the venue for Friday's Twenty20 fixture - to Adelaide, so that they could fly home to India if the charges against Harbhajan were not dropped. The move was described by MV Sridhar, the team's assistant manager, as a "show of solidarity".

Friday's match alone - the curtain-raiser for the lucrative CB Series - is expected to attract a crowd in excess of 90,000, and Cricket Australia, fearing the loss of millions of dollars in TV rights, sponsorship and gate takings, opted not to call India's bluff. It was also believed to be under pressure from broadcasters who could have sued had the series been abandoned.

"somersaults of harbhajan like a chimp after taking the wicket of ricky ponting clearly says whatever he said clearly meant it"

and how can you be so sure? players are free to make animated actions in the field long as they don't come as in personal attack with the other players. cricket is a mind game and a few words exchange to unsettle the nerves of the opposing players is a part and parcel of the game. if you go by the history, australians prolly come upfront as far as getting personal with players in the field is concerned. i still say: no big deal !  let's get on with the game !

Lootekukur. if you dont know harbhajan was charged with similar offense 3 months earlier in India against the same Australia.

The thing is now law are bent according to what india needs. India threatened to pull out of one day series and it was sure that harbhajan would be exonerated. India even forced  ICC to change the umpire Steve Bucknor when according to contract signed beforehand no team team can force to change the Umpire between the series. but ICC was forced to change umpire because India threatened  to pull out of the series.

india is quite a force, i agree. australia is not a lesser force either and they do have money too. why don't they pull out of the ODIs if they think their concern is valid? why can't they pressurize ICC? till now, australians have been playing all the mind games and stuffs behind curtains. darrel hair, the ruthless aussie umpire, tried to overlook the ICC's decision of a clean chit on Muralitharan for his bowling actions. it was ricky ponting who went to gibbs and told him: "buddy, you dropped the world cup" when latter dropped a sitter from steve waugh. steve bucknor have had a pretty dismal performance career as an umpire before ICC decided to change. it's not just due to indian pressure tactic. i know, harbhajan is an A (beep- beep) hole, but let's try to look at things from all sides. why penalize underdogs all the time?

Loote bhaiyaa, you missed the point somewhere. It was about Indian bullying the ICC, and in many occasions, it has mistreated other cricket playing nations as well....dadagiri dherai garcha...

And if my short-sight is good, i can see Ponting not there wrapping up the controversy within the boundary...not anywhere in the middle...this time he is seen there in the conference hall taking up the issue..tyo green striped jacket ko Ponting haina ra

jalle j bhane pani ajako diin katiyo... the bottom line ... :D

Lootekukur.  if  high court finds you guilty you go to supreme court.  If supreme court finds you guilty then you have to accept the decision of supreme court. Because not accepting it is not respecting the highest court of justice.

But see what BCCI said.. Harbhajan was already found guilty on mike procters court.  BCCI said clearly   " They will walk out if Henson's court decision don't come out in their favour".  Clearly they used their financial influence to get decision in their favor. Already 90,000 tickets are being sold for the first 20-20 match in Melbourne and it too much to take for cricket australia. .

Whether harbhajan said it or not is a difference issue but the decision to exonerate harbhajan was already scripted and so called Indian cricket discussion pro grammes were already predicting it.

Arko kura loote ji.

India used their power to change umpire steve bucknor.  Do you know when westindies toured Australia in 2006 Brain lara got 4 bad decision against him by an umpire called Rudi Koertzen. When Rudi didn't played last test he made a double hundred.   Not only lara whole of westindies were at receiving end of umpiring decision in that series. Poor westdian commentator Michael Holding ran out of fingers counting bad decisions.

Nobody gave a rat ass to Westindian plea to change the umpire. Bangladesh when they toured Austalai suffered a similar fate. England had similar bad luck last ashes. So why India got special privilege to change the umpire.

KK,
my point exactly about the aussies' double standards. when it's them sledging at other players, he says it should remain in the middle and when it's defying their own sledging by other teams, he goes to the court.

now, with this particular one, it might be true that BCCI are bullying ICC, but there were no clear evidences there to conclude that harbhajan made such remark or if he had, it was intended to pass racial judgment on andrew.

Well India is definitely using its power in the ICC
I have a feeling this will break the ICC... I know England and Aussie will be together where as all Asian countries will come together...........
NO Quiro one more thing... Rudi is not from Australia so u cannot say he purposely gave LARA out..
Well Australia lost the last ASHES because of bad umpiring....They did not complain...
I am not supporting Australia.. I am just saying........ whatever India is doing is bad for the game..
Well did they complain when.... i think it was in the OVAL when Sresshanth was out he was not given out and they saved the test... later won the series... Did anybody complain....
I think they are the most pretentious hyocrites in this world.....................
I was reading the other day. this is what it said
" BCCI  controls ICC and BCCI is controlled by indian people"
which is verty true...
See the Sydney test... it was blown out of proportion...
Ever since I was born all i have seen is the 1983 rerun...
I hope they never win the WC again..

My version of the story is Harbhajan is a jacka$$ and has always been!! But in this case, he was not proven guilty of a racial abuse........of saying symond a M*nkey...even Symonds and the Rest of the Aussies were not sure whether Harbhajan uttered Monkey or Teri Maa ki..... So I feel for Harbhajan in this case!! But what I didnt like in this whole issue is that BCCI coming and saying things like "An Indian player can never be a racist" or "We shall not stand for our boys being called racists" in exact words n thats not called for!! That 4 me is absolutely disgraceful!! How can he say that?? This is where I have my objections and not with Harbhajan who is very proud in what he does and throws what he gets back to the Aussies when needed and stms goes overboard as well!!

And abt changing the Umpire for the next match after a dismal show in the second test, that was ICC who was at fault!! They surely sud have taken a stronger stance and sud have had Bucknor, the most experienced even if not the most respected umpire in the world , to umpire in the Perth test!! And one thing to no quiero, this was not the first evidence that the umpire had been changed as u mentioned! I clearly remember Srilanka had Rudi Koertzen sacked for the next tour to SRL when he made  fatal error by giving Sangakkara out when he was playing prolly a match winning inning of 194 against the aussies! So ICC made a wrong decision then and repeated the same mistake again!!

And abt Harbhajan once more, hes getting his share of booing in Australia by around 80000 ppl and that wud surely b reminding him thro out his life not to indulge in such acts!!!

Now lets enjoy the Commonwealth VB series and hope that India and SRL wud put up a good fight against the aussies and not get romped like in the T-20!!! I just wish India n Srl are there in the finals and Ricky Ponting getting stripped from captaincy like Steve Waugh was after his team failed to qualify to the finals against NZ and SA!! That series rocked and lets hope this series also will but deep down I just feel that India dont have the batting depth and with Ganguly and Dravid out the middle order is far too brittle to put up a fight and India have to call up one or may be both of them in the middle of the series after a dismal performance in the first half!! For me a series in Australia is not the time to sack the class, flair and experience of Ganguly!!

Anyways, My POLLY is retiring, SA will miss a legend, the whole cricketing world will and So will I!! My mentor is walking away from the game with his head held high and being such great ambassador for the game!! Brought tears to my eyes yesterday when he bowled his last over and hit the winning runs against the Windies at his home ground :( Best of luck Polly and have a great life after cricket!! SA surely have a great season ahead against India, England and Australia ahead!! A great season lies ahead for the Proteas and there are Heroes to b born! Watch out guys for a turn around of the FACE of cricket!!!

Amen...
